HIGH QUALITY FOUNDATION ART CLASSES SERVICE OVER 1,000 ADULTS ANNUALLY. SEQUENTIAL-BASED INSTRUCTION GIVES STUDENTS THE FRAMEWORK FOR DEVELOPING SKILLS IN CERAMICS, DRAWING, FIBER ART, GLASSBLOWING, PRINTMAKING, PHOTOGRAPHY, PAINTING, JEWELRY & METALSMITHING AND HAWAIIAN CULTURAL WORKSHOPS AND DEMONSTRATIONS. THE HUI'S OPEN STUDIO PROGRAM ADVANCES CAREERS FOR OVER 100 COMMUNITY ARTISTS ANNUALLY WHO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF SKILLED TEACHING ARTISTS AND STUDIO TECHNICIANS OR WORKING INDEPENDENTLY WITH ACCESS TO PROFESSIONAL, WORLD-CLASS ART STUDIOS, EQUIPMENT, AND TOOLS. YOUTH PROGRAMS SERVE OVER 4,700 MAUI YOUTH ANNUALLY THROUGH REGULAR HUI YOUTH AND FAMILY PROGRAMS, ART CAMPS, AND ADDITIONAL PROGRAM OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES AND FIELD TRIPS. HUI NO`EAU COLLABORATES WITH COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, SCHOOLS AND EDUCATORS TO SERVE AT-RISK AND SPECIAL NEEDS YOUTH OR THOSE WITHOUT ADEQUATE ARTS EDUCATION FUNDING. THE HUI ALSO OFFERS A ROBUST SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM THAT ENABLES STUDENTS IN NEED OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO PARTICIPATE IN HUI CLASSES, CAMPS, FIELD TRIPS, AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS YEAR ROUND. THE GOALS ARE TO PROVIDE YOUTH WITH MEANINGFUL AND UNIQUE SKILLS, POSITIVE ADULT ROLE MODELS, AND EXPERIENCES THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN CHILDREN'S' LIFELONG ACADEMIC AND SOCIAL SUCCESS.
