TO ADVANCE THE CULTIVATION OF MUSIC IN GENERAL AND CHORAL MUSIC IN PARTICULAR. IN ADDITION TO THE 144TH ANNUAL PERFORMANCE OF HANDEL'S MESSIAH, THE CHORUS DISPLAYED ITS ABILITY TO PERFORM VARIOUS REPERTOIRES, PERFORMING BOTH A ROSSINI MASS AND A PROGRAM OF HOLLYWOOD'S BEST KNOWN MUSIC. THE CHORUS WAS ALSO HIRED TO PERFORM WITH THE CHICAGO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, PEORIA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, CHICAGO OPERA THEATER, AND ELMHURST SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA.

PERFORMANCES OF CHORAL MUSIC AT VARIOUS VENUES IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. CHORUS IS COMPRISED OF ABOUT 120 AUDITIONED VOLUNTEERS SHARING AN ABIDING LOVE OF MUSIC. THE 120 VOLUNTEER SINGERS DONATE THEIR ENTHUSIASM AND VOICES AT WEEKLY REHEARSALS FROM SEPTEMBER THROUGH MID-MAY EACH YEAR, WITH ADDITIONAL PRACTICE TIME PRIOR TO MAJOR PERFORMANCES. ALL TOLD, ABOUT 12,000 HOURS ARE CONTRIBUTED BY THE VOLUNTEER SINGERS EACH YEAR, WHICH AT GENERALLY ACCEPTED ESTIMATES OF THE VALUE OF VOLUNTEER TIME ($31.80/HOUR AS OF FEBRUARY 2024), COME TO MORE THAN $381,600 IN DONATED SERVICES ANNUALLY.
