SOUNDS GOOD CHOIR OUR FLAGSHIP PROGRAM PROVIDES CHORAL-MUSIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR OLDER ADULTS (GENERALLY AGE 55+) IN A FUN, ENCOURAGING, NON-AUDITIONED ENVIRONMENT LED BY PROFESSIONAL CONDUCTORS, WHO TEACH REPERTOIRE AS WELL AS VOCAL TECHNIQUE. FACED WITH COVID-19 IN MARCH 2020, WE CANCELLED IN-PERSON CONCERTS AND MOVED ALL ACTIVITIES ONLINE FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR, RELEASING OUR FIRST VIRTUAL VIDEO IN MAY. REHEARSALS WERE HELD VIA FACEBOOK LIVE; SINGERS RECORDED THEMSELVES AT HOME FOR PERFORMANCES IN AUGUST AND DECEMBER. CONCERTS WERE UPLOADED TO YOUTUBE FOR FREE PUBLIC ACCESS (HTTPS://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/CHANNEL/UCCYTXMIJA6GEQEYZBL0E8GG). WE ADDED WEEKLY COFFEE CHATS ON ZOOM TO KEEP SINGERS SOCIALLY CONNECTED. GOOD MEMORIES CHOIR THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES THIS PROGRAM TO BRING JOY AND SOCIAL CONNECTION TO THE LIVES OF OLDER ADULTS WITH EARLY-STAGE MEMORY LOSS AND THEIR CARE PARTNERS, WHO REHEARSE AND PERFORM TOGETHER ALONG WITH A GROUP OF SINGING VOLUNTEERS. AS SOON AS COVID-19 SHUT DOWN IN-PERSON ACTIVITIES, GOOD MEMORIES HELD WEEKLY REHEARSALS OVER ZOOM FROM MARCH THROUGH DECEMBER. COFFEE HOUR WAS BUILT INTO REHEARSAL TIME, AND SINGERS RECORDED VIDEOS AT HOME TO BE PART OF THE SOUNDS GOOD VIRTUAL CHOIR DESCRIBED ABOVE. A SPECIAL GOOD MEMORIES ONLINE SING-ALONG WAS ADDED IN JULY TO COMBAT THE SOCIAL ISOLATION SO COMMON FOR PEOPLE WITH DEMENTIA AND THOSE WHO CARE FOR THEM; OUR NEW ONLINE ACTIVITY DREW NEW CONSTITUENTS TO OUR ORGANIZATION.
