NORTH RIVER COMMISSION PROVIDES OST (AFTERSCHOOL) EDUCATION AT 4 LOCAL SCHOOLS, 2 ELEMENTARY, 1 MIDDLE SCHOOL AND 1 HIGH SCHOOL THROUGH AN ISBE 21ST CCLC 5-YEAR GRANT. FORGE EDUCATES OVER 700 STUDENTS AND 120 PARENTS. IN ADDITION, THE AGENCY ASSISTS IN THE IMPROVEMENT OF EDUCATION AT 25 LOCAL SCHOOLS.
ADMINISTER ECONOMIC PROGRAMS CONTRACTED WITH THE CITY OF CHICAGO IN THE ALBANY PARK AND IRVING PARK NEIGHBORHOODS
NORTH RIVER COMMISSION OWNS AND OPERATES MAYFAIR COMMONS SENIOR APARTMENTS THAT SERVES 116 VERY LOW INCOME SENIORS. THE AGENCY FOSTERS THE CREATION AND PRESERVATION OF SENIOR AND WORKFORCE AFFORDABLE HOUSING INCLUDING RECENT DEVELOPMENT OF 138 NEW UNITS IN 3 BUILDINGS AND THE PRESERVATION OF 180 UNITS AT NORTH PARK VILLAGE.
