Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3
DURING 2022, BELLE HAVEN ACTIONS WORK PROVIDED AN ONGOING OPPORTUNITY TO SHOWCASE LOCAL NEEDS, ISSUES, CHALLENGES, AND OPPORTUNITIES. FROM HOUSING TO LOCAL JOBS, ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE AND IMMEDIATE HEALTH NEEDS, TRANSPORTATION, AND VOTER ENGAGEMENT, WE APPLIED A STRENGTHS-BASED APPROACH TO STEMMING THE TIDE OF SYSTEMIC RACISM. WE HOSTED FOUR HOUSING-RELATED WORKSHOPS, PROMOTED AND PROVIDED TWO HEALTH FAIRS, AND PRESENTED AT MULTIPLE REGIONAL AND COUNTY-WIDE CONFERENCES. WE DID HOURS OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FOR VOTER EDUCATION, BRINGING IN LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO WORK WITH OUR YOUNG ADULT OUTREACH TEAM, ALL STUDENTS OF COLOR. WE JOINED THE BOARD OF THE PARTNERSHIP FOR CLIMATE JUSTICE IN THE BAY AREA. WE CONTINUED OUR PARTICIPATION WITH THRIVE, THE ASSOCIATION FOR NONPROFITS IN SAN MATEO COUNTY, AND UMOJA HEALTH OF SOUTH SAN MATEO COUNTY. WE LAUNCHED OUR VIDEO ORAL HISTORY PROJECT ON JUNETEENTH AT MPBLACKHISTORY.INFO AND CONTINUED TO EMPLOY LOCAL YOUTH OF COLOR AT A LIVING WAGE. WE MAINTAINED AN ACTIVE OUTREACH CALENDAR AND PUBLISHED OUR NEWSLETTER QUARTERLY VIA EMAIL, TEXT, SOCIAL MEDIA, AND PRINTED MEDIA THAT WE DISTRIBUTED DOOR TO DOOR TO THE NEARLY 7,000 RESIDENTS OF THE BELLE HAVEN NEIGHBORHOOD. WE SPONSORED AND PARTICIPATED IN LOCAL CELEBRATIONS OF BLACK HISTORY EVENTS LIKE RUBY BRIDGES WALK TO SCHOOL DAY, JUNETEENTH, MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY UNITY WALK, AND THE CITYS BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION.
