THE WCVA EXISTS TO ENCOURAGE VISITORS TO STAY, SPEND AND PLAY IN WASHINGTON COUNTY, OREGON, BY SELLING, MARKETING AND PROMOTING THE COUNTY'S DIVERSE COLLECTION OF TOURISM-RELATED ASSETS

THE WCVA WORKS TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY, OREGON AND ITS TOURISM RELATED ASSETS AND POSITION THE COUNTY AS A PREEMINENT DESTINATION FOR TRAVEL, SPORTS AND MEETING EVENTS, AND TOURISM. PART OF THE WCVA'S ROLE IS TO IDENTIFY AND MARKET TO OUT-OF-AREA VISITORS INCLUDING BUSINESS, LEISURE AND GROUP TRAVELERS, AS WELL AS MEETING AND EVENT PLANNERS AND TOUR OPERATORS AMONG OTHERS. THE WCVA REACHES THESE AUDIENCES THROUGH ADVERTISING, TRADE SHOW ATTENDANCE. SALES MISSIONS, AND TOURS OF THE COUNTY'S TOURISM ASSETS. THE WCVA MAINTAINS A VISITOR INFORMATION CENTER WHERE VISITORS CAN RECEIVE DIRECT ASSISTANCE. THE WCVA PRODUCES THE WASHINGTON COUNTY VISITORS GUIDE ALONG WITH OTHER MAPS AND MATERIALS TO HELP VISITORS ENJOY ALL THE COUNTY HAS TO OFFER. THE WCVA ALSO SUPPORTS THE GROWTH OF THE TOURISM INDUSTRY THROUGH TARGETED CAPITAL GRANTS TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE MAKING THE COUNTY A MORE ATTRACTIVE DESTINATION.
