DURING THE 2023-2024 SEASON, THE INDIANAPOLIS BAROQUE ORCHESTRA PRESENTED 6 MAIN-STAGE PERFORMANCES. OUR SEASON OPENER "THE BACH FAMILY" WAS LED BY OUR CONCERTMASTER, ADRIANE POST; TWO PERFORMANCES "LOUIS XV'S PARIS AND HAYDN & STAMITZ" WERE LED BY OUR WORLD-RENOWNED ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, BARTHOLD KUIJKEN; ONE PERFORMANCE WAS A COLLABORATION OF "DIDO & AENEAS" WITH CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL; ONE CONCERT WAS PRESENTED AT BALL STATE UNIVERSITY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE DAVID OWSLEY MUSEUM OF ART'S SPRING EXHIBITION "BEYOND THE MEDICI: THE HAUKOHL FAMILY COLLECTION AND THE FINAL CONCERT OF THE SEASON FEATURED BAROQUE LUTENIST BRANDON ACKER ON OUR IIBC LAUREATE SERIES. EACH YEAR THIS CONCERT CELEBRATES THE DEVELOPING CAREER OF PAST FINALISTS OF THE INDIANAPOLIS INTERNATIONAL BAROQUE COMPETITION, WHICH WE CO-HOST WITH THE INDIANAPOLIS EARLY MUSIC FESTIVAL EVERY FOUR YEARS. IN ADDITION TO OUR MAIN-STAGE PERFORMANCES, WE HAD SEVERAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. IN OCTOBER, WE PRESENTED OUR FIRST EVER BILINGUAL MUSICAL STORYTELLING PROGRAM AT FAIRBANKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. THE EVENT INCLUDED INSTRUMENTAL INTRODUCTIONS, SELECTIONS OF TELEMANN'S DON QUIXOTE SUITE PLAYED BY MEMBERS OF THE IBO, AS WELL AS A READING OF THE CHIDREN'S BOOK "DON QUIXOTE AND THE WINDMILLS" BY ERIC KIMMEL IN BOTH SPANISH AND ENGLISH. IN DECEMBER, IBO MUSICIANS COACHED ORCHESTRA STUDENTS AT CENTER GROVE HIGH SCHOOL ON CORELLI'S CHRISTMAS CONCERTO FOR THEIR UPCOMING HOLIDAY CONCERT. IN FEBRUARY, BARTHOLD KUIJKEN GAVE 2 MASTERCLASSES TO STUDENTS AT INDIANA UNIVERSITY'S JACOBS SCHOOL OF MUSIC. IN MARCH, MEMBERS OF IBO GAVE THREE FREE PERFORMANCES OF OUR ANNUAL STORYTELLING PROGRAM, GROWING UP BAROQUE, WHICH CONSISTED OF IRISH BAROQUE AND FOLK MUSIC WOVEN INTO THE READING OF THE BELOVED CHILDREN'S BOOK "ST. PATRICK'S DAY IN THE MORNING" BY EVE BUNTING.
