DURING THE 2021-2022 SEASON, THE INDIANAPOLIS BAROQUE ORCHESTRA GRADUALLY RESUMED LIVE PERFORMANCES. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WE HOSTED FIVE IN-PERSON PERFORMANCES AND TWO EDUCATION PROGRAMS. OUR ANNUAL COLLABORATION WITH SECOND PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH INCLUDED BOTH A PERFORMANCE OF HANDEL'S MESSIAH AND AN NEWLY DESIGNED EDUCATION EVENT CALLED GETTING A HANDEL ON MESSIAH. THE LATTER IS A CHILDREN AND FAMILY INTRODUCTION TO THE BELOVED WORK, COMPLETE WITH INSTRUMENT INTRODUCTIONS, INTERACTIVE ACTIVITIES, GROUP PERFORMANCE, AND A VISIT FROM HANDEL HIMSELF. IN THE SPRING, WE WERE PLEASED TO HOST BAROQUE TRUMPETER DOMINIC FAVIA ON OUR IIBC LAUREATE SERIES. EACH YEAR THIS CONCERT CELEBRATES THE DEVELOPING CAREER OF PAST FINALISTS OF THE INDIANAPOLIS INTERNATIONAL BAROQUE COMPETITION, WHICH WE CO-HOST WITH THE INDIANAPOLIS EARLY MUSIC FESTIVAL EVERY FOUR YEARS. IN THE SUMMER OF 2022, WE WERE ABLE TO HOST THE RESCHEDULED 2019 INDIANAPOLIS INTERNATIONAL BAROQUE COMPETITION - WHICH FEATURED FIVE FINALISTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD.
