HEALTH FRONTIERS IS A VOLUNTEER OUTREACH OF HEALTH PROFESSIONALS FOCUSED ON MEDICAL EDUCATION IN LAOS AND THE SPECIAL NEEDS OF CHILDREN IN DISASTERS.

LAOS PROJECT-THIS HAS BEEN OUR FLAGSHIP PROJECT FOR THE LAST 30 YEARS. HUNDREDS OF VOLUNTEERS HAVE HELPED THE LAO UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES ESTABLISH THE FIRST GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION TRAINING PROGRAMS IN LAO HISTORY. IT HAS GROWN INTO SUCCESSFUL TRAINING PROGRAMS IN PEDIATRICS, INTERNAL MEDICINE AND EMERGENCY MEDICINE. GRADUATES ARE NOW HELPING TO TRANSFORM HEALTH CARE IN ONE OF ASIA'S NEEDIEST POPULATIONS AND TAKING INCREASING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE THREE YEAR TRAINING PROGRAMS. WE ARE NOW ABLE TO REDUCE OUR SUPPORT FOR THESE PROGRAMS WHILE INCREASING OUR SUPPORT FOR THE SUBSPECIALTY TRAINING OF LAO GRADUATES IN COLLABORATION WITH KHON KAEN UNIVERSITY AND OTH REGIONAL CENTERS.


MUANG SING/NOMA PROJECT-PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR THE SECONDARY AND HIGHER EDUCATION FOR POOR CHILDRED IN RURAL NORTHERN LAOS AS WELL AS FOR PEOP;E SUFFERING FROM THE DEVASTATING EFFECTS OF NOMA. FUNDS ARE ADMINISTERED THROUGH TRUSTED VOLUNTEERS.


CHILDREN IN DISASTERS PROJECT-DURING THE PAST YEAR HEALTH FRONTIERS PROVIDED PARTIAL SUPPORT FOR TWO FOUR DAY WORKSHOPS ON "HELPING CHILDRED AND FAMILIES IN DISASTERS". ONE WAS HELD AT THE CLEVELAND METRO HEALTH CENTER IN OCTOBER 2019. THE SECOND WAS CONDUCTED IN ABU DHABI, UAE IN JANUARY 2020.


MIND BODY PROGRAM-HEALTH FRONTIERS SUPPORTS THE COSTS OF MEDICATIONS FOR DESTITUTE CHILDREN AT MULAGO HOSPITAL IN UGANDA.
