Part 3 - Line 4a
PACIFIC BALLROOM DANCE SERVES MORE THAN 160 STUDENTS IN OUR ACADEMY AND COMPANY PROGRAMS. PROGRAM ACHIEVEMENTS INCLUDE EXPANSION OF THE ACADEMY TO INCLUDE THREE ADDITIONAL CLASSES, THE ADDITION OF ANOTHER COMPETITION TEAM AND EXPANSION OF OUR STARS PROGRAMMING. THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ALSO CONTINUES TO GROW TO ASSIST MORE STUDENTS.
THIS IS A NATIONAL SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR 5TH AND 8TH GRADE STUDENTS USING BALLROOM DANCE AS THE AGENT OF CHANGE. BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC, WE WERE NOT ABLE TO IMPLEMENT THIS PROGRAM DURING THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR. PRIOR TO THAT YEAR, WE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 360 SEATTLE-AREA SCHOOL CHILDREN EACH YEAR. DURING THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR, WE WERE ABLE TO BRING THE PROGRAM TO ONE SCHOOL. THE PROGRAM IS A 10 WEEK, 20 SESSION IN-SCHOOL RESIDENCY PROGRAM. RESEARCH STUDIES INDICATE THAT THE PROGRAM DOES INDEED GENERATE A SIGNIFICANT POSITIVE IMPACT AND CHANGE IN PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS.
