SINCE 2018, A TOTAL OF 24 WOMEN HAVE LIVED IN OUR HOMES IN PARAMOUNT AND BELLFLOWER OF WHICH 20 HAVE NOW GRADUATED. GRADUATION MEANS THAT THEY ARE FULLY EMPLOYED (OR PARTIALLY EMPLOYED AND IN SCHOOL), HAVE THEIR OWN PLACE TO LIVE AND ARE IN MANY CASES REUNITED WITH THEIR CHILDREN. WE HAVE HAD 8 MOMS RECEIVE BACK A TOTAL OF 19 CHILDREN FROM FOSTER CARE IN JUST THE PAST TWO YEARS. WE ARE NOW WELL-REGARDED AS ADVOCATES WITHIN THE FOSTER CARE AND SOCIAL SERVICES SYSTEM. WE HAVE TWO FAMILIES ASSOCIATED WITH ARISE & SHINE THAT ARE CERTIFIED FOSTER PARENTS THAT CAN HELP MEET THE NEEDS OF MOTHERS AND CHILDREN BY EITHER HELPING TO FOSTER THEIR CHILD OR BE USED AS AN APPROVED MONITOR. OUR GRADUATES INCLUDE A NURSE, AN OFFICE MANAGER, 2 IN HOME HEALTHCARE ASSISTANTS, CORPORATE MANAGER, LOGISTICS CONTROLLER AND TWO BUSINESS OWNERS. IN DECEMBER 2018 WE OPENED WALNUT HOUSE IN BELLFLOWER SPECIFICALLY FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN, SINCE OPENING WE HAVE HAD 9 WOMEN COME THRU AS WELL AS 11 CHILDREN. 8 WOMEN ARE STILL SOBER LIVING HEALTHY PRODUCTIVE LIVES ALL CHILDREN ARE WITH THEIR MOTHERS! BETWEEN THE TWO HOMES WE HAD 9 GRADUATES IN 2019. IN ADDITION, OUR GRADUATES ARE NOW ACTIVE MEMBERS OF THEIR CHURCHES AND, IN A NUMBER OF CASES, ARE ACTIVELY SHARING THE GOSPEL WITH OTHER WOMEN WHO ARE STRUGGLING WITH ADDICTION AND OTHER PROBLEMS.
