Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT FOR THE MUSIC PROGRAMS IN THE KINGS LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT VIA THE HOSTING OF CONTESTS, SPONSORSHIP OF ATTENDANCE AT LOCAL, REGIONAL AND NATIONAL EVENTS, AS WELL AS PARTICIPATION IN NUMEROUS COMMUNITY EVENTS AND PERFORMANCES.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3
KINGS HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND - SUPPORT OF THIS FUNCTION IS NECESSARY TO ENHANCE THE OVERALL MUSIC EXPERIENCE OF PARTICIPATING STUDENTS. IT IS FELT THAT MUCH LIKE OTHER COMPETITIVE SCHOOL ACTIVITIES, THE LESSONS OF TEAMWORK THAT ARE TAUGHT AND LEARNED HAVE A DIRECT IMPACT ON THE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE. AS THIS ACTIVITY PROMOTES THE ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT OF PARENTS, THE FAMILY IMPACT IS MAGNIFIED AND RELATIONSHIPS ARE ENHANCED AND SOLIDIFIED. PERFORMANCES AND COMPETITIONS ARE VIEWED BY HUNDREDS, IF NOT THOUSANDS, OF PEOPLE WHO ARE BOTH MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
KINGS HIGH SCHOOL WINTER GUARD - THIS ACTIVITY IS VERY SIMILAR TO MARCHING BAND WITH ALL THE SAME GOALS AND OBJECTIVES EXCEPT THAT THE AREA OF CONCENTRATION IS AN ACTIVITY THAT CAN BEST BE DESCRIBED AS A COMBINATION OF DANCE, GYMNASTICS AND PERFROMANCE ARTS ALL SET TO MUSIC. PARTICIPANTS ARE BOTH MALE AND FEMALE, WHOSE PERFORMANCES ARE VIEWED BY BOTH MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY AND GENERAL PUBLIC.
KINGS HIGH SCHOOL DRUM LINE - LIKE MARCHING BAND, SUPPORT OF THIS ACTIVITY IS NECESSARY TO ENHANCE THE EXPERIENCE OF THE STUDENTS IN THE SPECIFIC AREA OF MUSICAL PERCUSSION. AGAIN, THE LESSONS OF TEAMWORK THAT ARE TAUGHT HAVE A DIRECT IMPACT ON THE OVERALL EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE. AS THE MUSICAL INTEREST IS IN A SPECIFIC AREA, TIME CAN BE AND IS DEVOTED TO THAT GROUP OF STUDENTS THAT HAVE AN INTEREST IN PERCUSSION AND THE SPECIFIC GROUP OF INSTURMENTS THAT COMPRISES THIS DISCIPLINE. ALSO, LIKE MARCHING BAND, THE ACTIVITY ENCOURAGES PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT FOR ALL OF THE SAME REASONS. LIKE MARCHING BAND, PERFORMANCES AND COMPETITIONS ARE VIEWED BY MANY MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY AND GENERAL PUBLIC.
EXPENSES RELATED TO BAND COMPETITIONS AND OTHER TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION.
