REMAX BALLOON FEST - THREE DAY EVENT THAT IS FREE TO THE PUBLIC; HOWEVER, FESTIVAL ATTENDEES ARE ENCOURAGED TO BRING CANNED FOOD AS THEIR PRICE OF ADMISSION. THE CANNED FOOD IS THEN DONATED TO LOCAL FOOD BANKS. SEVERAL THOUSAND CANS OF FOOD ARE DONATED. THE BALLOONISTS ALSO VISIT, WITH THEIR BALLOONS, VARIOUS SCHOOLS, NURSING HOMES AND ORGANIZATIONS TO TEACH ABOUT THE SCIENCE OF BALLOONING.
