Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
OUR MOST SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITY IN 2021 WAS THE RTD SKATEPARK OPERATING ON THE GROUNDS OF ROCK THE DESERT. RTD SKATEPARK WAS OPEN YEAR ROUND ON TUESDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHTS. RTD SKATEPARK CONDUCTS TUESDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY THAT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FREE OF CHARGE. RTD SKATEPARK HAS SEEN DOZENS OF DECISIONS MADE FOR CHRIST SINCE ITS OPENING IN 2014, AND OFFERS A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE YOUTH IN MIDLAND AND ODESSA TO ENJOY SKATEBOARDING. RTD SKATEPARK HAS BEEN A DREAM OF THE ROCK THE DESERT BOARD MEMBERES AND FOUNDERS FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. THE GOAL WAS TO TAKE THE SKATE MINISTRY HAPPENING AT THE FESTIVAL TO MORE OF A YEAR ROUND MINISTRY, AND IT HAS BEEN REALLY EXCITING AND FULFILLING TO SEE THAT DREAM BECOME A REALITY.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
ROCK THE DESERT WAS KNOWN AS THE 5TH LARGEST CHRISTIAN MUSIC FESTIVAL IN THE COUNTRY. THE 3 DAY MUSIC FESTIVAL TYPICALLY INCLUDED OVER 30 CHRISTIAN MUSIC PERFORMANCES, FOOD VENDORS, AND CAMPING. THE MUSIC FESTIVAL WAS ATTENDED BY THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE FROM MORE THAN A DOZEN STATES. ACHIEVEMENTS DURING THE FESTIVAL WERE MEASURED BY SUCCESS IN OUR PRAYER TENT, SKATEPARK, AND BAPTISMS. WE HAD A DEDICTED VOLUNTEER MINISTRY TEAM THAT MENTORED AND PRAYED WITH FESTIVAL ATTENDEES, AND HELPED DIRECT THEM IN THE WAY OF THE LORD. THE FESTIVAL WAS SUSPENDED DURING 2020.
RTD SKATEPARK ACHIEVEMENTS ARE MEASURED BY SUCCESS OF THE NUMBER OF SKATERS COMING TO TUESDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDIES, THE WELL ATTENDED COMPETITIONS AND EVENTS WE HAVE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, THE NUMBER OF SKATERS WHO HAVE DEDICATED THEIR LIVES TO CHRIST, AND THE NUMBER OF NEW SKATERS AND FAMILIES COMING OUT TO SKATE THE PARK. WE ALSO HAVE A VERY DEDICATED GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS AND STAFF RUNNING THE PARK AND MINISTERING TO THE YOUTH.
