BIBLE TRANSLATION, LITERACY, AND RELATED MOBILIZATION AND DISCIPLESHIP ACTIVITIES - PIONEER BIBLE CONSISTS OF 593 TEAMMATES WORLDWIDE MINISTERING TO 102.5 MILLION PEOPLE IN 108 DIFFERENT LANGUAGE PROJECTS IN 28 COUNTRIES. DURING 2021, WE INCREASED THE NUMBER OF ACTIVE LANGUAGE PROJECTS FROM 101 TO 108. WE DRAFTED 51,717 VERSES OF SCRIPTURE, EXEGETICALLY CHECKED 28,257 AND PUBLISHED 31,174 VERSES FOR THE FIRST TIME. WE CONTINUED BUILDING A NEW CAPACITY FOR SIGN LANGUAGE TRANSLATION WORLDWIDE. FINALLY, WE NOTE THAT IN THE 45 YEAR HISTORY OF PIONEER BIBLE, OUR TEAMS HAVE DRAFTED ABOUT 947,000 VERSES OF THE BIBLE, THE EQUIVALENT NUMBER OF VERSES AS 119 NEW TESTAMENTS--7 OF WHICH WERE DRAFTED IN 2021. WE HAVE PUBLISHED 4 COMPLETE BIBLES AND 23 NEW TESTAMENTS.
RECRUITMENT - RECRUITING NEW MISSIONARIES IS KEY TO THE MISSION OF PIONEER BIBLE TRANSLATORS. THE ORGANIZATION HAD 81 NEW MISSIONARY RECRUITS, HELD 52 IN-PERSON EVENTS AND ANOTHER 8 ONLINE EVENTS. THROUGH THESE EVENTS AROUND 3,000+ PEOPLE BECAME FAMILIAR WITH THE MINISTRY OF PIONEER BIBLE TRANSLATORS. AROUND 70 OF THESE ARE SERIOUS INQUIRERS. TRAINING - TRAINING NEW AND CURRENT MISSIONARIES IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF PIONEER BIBLE'S MISSION. IN 2021, PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL COACHING WAS PROVIDED TO AT LEAST 168 INDIVIDUALS PREPARING FOR CROSS-CULTURAL WORK. A PROGRAM PRACTICUM AND PLANNING COURSE WAS OFFERED IN BOTH THE FALL AND THE SPRING, AND WEEKLY CHAPEL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. 9 WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS WERE ALSO PROVIDED, TRAINING OVER 52 PEOPLE DURING THE YEAR. ONGOING TRAINING ACTIVITIES CONTINUED DAILY WITH NEW REPRESENTATIVES AND ASSOCIATES. IN 2021, 32 MISSIONARIES COMPLETED TRAINING AND BEGAN THEIR FIRST ASSIGNMENT.
MISSIONARY CARE - PBT VALUES A CULTURE OF CARE TO PROVIDE FOR EXPATRIATE AND LOCAL COWORKERS ENCOURAGEMENT AND HOLISTIC NURTURING THAT LEADS TO PHYSICAL, SPIRITUAL, SOCIAL, MENTAL, PROFESSIONAL, AND EMOTIONAL WELLBEING. IN 2021, THE CARE DEPARTMENT PROVIDED DOZENS OF RE-ENTRY CONTACTS AND CONFIDENTIAL CARE DEBRIEFINGS FOR COWORKERS AFFECTED BY COVID-19 AND OTHERS IN THEIR NORMAL RHYTHMS OF TRAVEL TO AND FROM THE FIELD. IN ADDITION TO DAILY PRAYER ACTIVITIES THAT INCLUDE A 24/7/365 INITIATIVE, THE CARE TEAM MOBILIZED THROUGH THOUSANDS OF EMAILS, SOCIAL MEDIA EXCHANGES, AND TELECONFERENCES. THE CARE DEPARTMENT LED TWO WEEK-LONG PRAYER AND FASTING EVENTS, 2 PARENT SEMINARS, 6 WEEKENDS TO TRAIN OVER 50 PEOPLE IN CARE PRACTICES, TWO SEND-OFF CELEBRATIONS AND TWO WORLDWIDE CARE TEAM MEETINGS. COUNTLESS YOUTH ACTIVITIES, COUNSELING SERVICES, AND TRAUMA HEALING SERVICES WERE ALSO PROVIDED.
