THE ANNUAL MIDWEST LEADERSHIP SUMMIT IS A PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE THAT IS LED BY EDUCATORS WITH REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE WHICH FOCUSES ON CHANGING EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMS AND STRUCTURES TO MORE EFFECTIVELY MEET THE NEEDS OF ALL STUDENTS, ESPECIALLY STUDENTS TRADITIONALLY IDENTIFIED AS AT-RISK FOR EDUCATIONAL FAILURE. THE SUMMIT IS A PRACTITIONER LED, SKILLS-BASED CONFERENCE COVERING TOPICS SUCH AS READING, MATHEMATICS, BEHAVIOR, LEADERSHIP, AND BASIC CORE CONSTRUCTS OF RESPONSE TO INTERVENTION. AN EARLY LEARNING RESEARCH TO PRACTICE INSTITUTE WAS ALSO HELD.
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES IN SUPPORT OF THE USE OF STUDENT PERFORMANCE DATA TO MAKE INSTRUCTIONAL DECISIONS CONCERNING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF INSTRUCTION TO MOVE TOWARD MORE EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES. THESE SERVICES PROVIDE A BRIDGE FROM RESEARCH-TO-PRACTICE AND PRACTICE-TO-RESEARCH, BY OFFERING DATA ANALYSIS AND INSTRUCTIONAL COACHING TO DISTRICTS AND SCHOOLS TO EQUIP THEIR PROFESSIONAL STAFF WITH THE REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TO USE DATA TO INFORM INSTRUCTION AND ALLOCATE RESOURCES. THESE SERVICES ARE OFFERED TO DISTRICTS AND SCHOOLS AS A FEE FOR SERVICE OPTION TO COVER THE COSTS OF STAFF AND OTHER ASSOCIATED OPERATIONAL COSTS. THE SCALE FOR THESE SERVICES IS MUCH LOWER THAN TYPICAL CONSULTANT SERVICES WITH SIMILAR TRAINING, EXPERTISE, AND CREDENTIALS.
