THE BAND BOOSTER CLUB RAISES FUNDS TO PROMOTE EXCELLENCE AND STUDENT ENRICHMENT. FOR THE YEAR 22-23, HERE IS A LIST OF ACCOLADES THAT SWHS BAND BOOSTER HAS BEEN ABLE TO SUPPORT FOR SOUTH WARREN STUDENTS: IN SEPTEMBER OF 2022, MARCHING SPARTANS AT RUSSELLVILLE'S CONTEST RECEIVED OVERALL GRAND CHAMPION AND LOGAN COUNTY'S CLASSIC EVENT, MARCHING SPARTANS PLACED FIRST PLACE IN CLASS 5A. IN OCTOBER OF 2022, THE MARCHING SPARTANS PARTICIPATED IN THE FOLLOWING EVENTS: IN WARREN CENTRAL'S DRAGON CLASSIC WINNING BEST OVEALL VISUAL PERFORMANCE AND OVERALL GRAND CHAMPION AND DRAGON CUP WINNER. AT GRAYSON COUNTY'S CONTEST, THEY PLACED 1ST PLACE CLASS 5A, BEST PERCUSSION CLASS 5A, BEST COLOR GUARD CLASS 5A, BEST PERFORMANCE LARGE DIVISION, OVERALL GRAND CHAMPION, DISTINGUISHED RATING. SWHS ENDED THE REGULAR SEASON UNDEFEATED. AT STATE SEMIFINALS, THE MARCHING SPARTANS PLACED 9TH IN CLASS 5A. IN NOVEMBER OF 2022, THE MARCHING SPARTANS JOINED FORCES WITH GREENWOOD GATORS, WC DRAGONS, WE RAIDERS, AND BG PURPLES TO HONOR OUR VETERANS IN THE BG VETERANS PARADE AS THE WARREN COUNTY BOWLING GREEN SUPERBAND. IN JANUARY OF 2023, THE SWHS AND SWMS BAND STUDENTS WERE PART OF THE ALL- DISTRICT BAND AND PUT ON A FANTASTIC CONCERT 7 STUDENTS WERE SELECTED TO THE WKU HONORS BAND. IN FEBRUARY OF 2023,SPARTAN WADE GIPSON WAS NAMED 5TH BEST GUITARIST IN THE STATE OF KY IN THE ALL-STATE GUITAR ORCHESTRA. THIS IS A GREAT HONOR AND WAS A GREAT PERFORMANCE. IN APRIL OF 2023, THE SWHS SYMPHONIC BAND AND WIND ENSEMBLE RECEIVED A DISTINGUISHED RATING AT CONCERT BAND ASSESSMENT. WE ARE VERY PROUD OF OUR PERFORMANCES AND WORK THIS YEAR.
