THE PURPOSE OF RESPONSIBLE SOURCING NETWORK (RSN) IS TO FOSTER GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAINS THAT ARE ACCOUNTABLE TOWARD THE PEOPLE AND NATURAL HABITATS THEY IMPACT DOWN TO THE RAW COMMODITY LEVEL.

COTTON PROGRAM: IN FY2022, RSN'S COTTON PROGRAM ACTIVITIES CONTINUED TO FOCUS ON RAISING AWARENESS OF AND TAKING STEPS TOWARD ELIMINATING FORCED LABOR INVOLVED IN COTTON PRODUCTION GLOBALLY. THE KEY ACCOMPLISHMENT WITH RSN'S DUE DILIGENCE INITIATIVE, YESS: YARN ETHICALLY & SUSTAINABLY SOURCED, WAS RELEASING OUR CORNERSTONE YESS STANDARD FOR FABRIC MILLS (V.1) AND YESS STANDARD FOR SPINNING MILLS (V.2). USING THE NEWLY RELEASED STANDARDS, RSN CONDUCTED THE INAUGURAL THIRD-PARTY YESS ASSESSMENTS WITH TWO SPINNING MILLS IN PAKISTAN, FOLLOWED BY THE FIRST TWO YESS ASSESSMENTS OF A KNITTING MILL AND A SPINNING MILL IN INDIA. ALTHOUGH THIRD-PARTY AUDITORS CONDUCTED THE ASSESSMENTS, RSN SHADOWED THE AUDITORS AND PROVIDED GUIDANCE TO THEM SINCE THEY ARE STILL LEARNING HOW TO CONDUCT DUE DILIGENCE ASSESSMENTS. WHILE IN PAKISTAN AND INDIA, RSN CONDUCTED FOUR CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOPS TO EDUCATE AUDIENCES ON DUE DILIGENCE, TRACEABILITY, AND YESS ASSESSMENTS.


MINERALS PROGRAM: IN FY 2022, RSN CONDUCTED EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ON CONFLICT MINERALS IN COLLABORATION WITH EUROPEAN STAKEHOLDERS TO CONTRIBUTE TO A STUDY REVIEWING THE FUNCTIONING AND EFFECTIVENESS OF THE EU CONFLICT MINERALS REGULATION (EU 2017/821), WHICH FOCUSES ON TIN, TANTALUM, TUNGSTEN, AND GOLD ORIGINATING FROM CONFLICT-AFFECTED AND HIGH-RISK AREAS.
