WAYNE HEALTH PHYSICIANS BRINGS THE EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY OF WAYNE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TO CONVENIENT LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT WAYNE COUNTY AND BEYOND BY OFFERING FAMILIES ACCESS TO A DISTINCTIVE GROUP OF CARING PHYSICIANS IN A WIDE RANGE OF SPECIALTIES. IN SEPTEMBER 2017, THESE PROVIDERS AND THEIR SUPPORT STAFF WERE TRANSITIONED TO UNC PHYSICIANS NETWORK, COMPOSED OF PHYSICIAN PRACTICES ACROSS THE STATE OF NC, ALL ON A SINGLE INFORMATION SYSTEM PLATFORM. THE LOCAL HOSPITAL SYSTEM RETAINS THE ABILITY (THROUGH PARTICIPATION IN THE UNCPN BOARD) TO DIRECT ADDITIONAL PRACTICES TO APPROPRIATE LOCATIONS IN WAYNE COUNTY, AND WILL CONTINUE TO FUND THE SHORTFALLS BETWEEN PATIENT RECEIPTS AND PRACTICE EXPENSES FOR LOCAL PRACTICES.
