THE CORPORATION PROVIDES SUPPORT, ENCOURAGEMENT AND FUNDING FOR CULTURAL ARTS AND ALL MEDIUMS OF ARTISTIC EXPRESSION IN THE NIWOT AREA, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PERFORMANCE ART, PAINTING, SCULPTURE, WEAVING, QUILTING, MUSIC, DANCE, MOVEMENT, DRAMA, ORAL INTERPRETATION, STORYTELLING, ORAL EXPRESSION, CREATIVE WRITING, LOCAL CULTURAL HISTORY, NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURAL HISTORY, AND WESTERN AMERICAN CULTURAL HISTORY.

SUMMER CONCERT SERIES - ROCK & RAILS IN 2020, THE CONCERT SERIES WAS CANCELLED DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. THE SERIES OFFERS OPPORTUNITIES TO LOCAL MUSICIANS TO PERFORM A VARIETY OF MUSICAL STYLES, FROM BIG BAND TO SALSA TO CLASSIC ROCK. IN 2020 THE WHISTLESTOP PARK SERVICE BUILDING, KNOWN AS "THE DEPOT" WAS CONSTRUCTED WITH DONATED FUNDS TOTALLING ALMOST 150,000. THE PURPOSE OF THE BUILDING IS TO PROVIDE SHELTER FOR VOLUNTEERS WHO PROVIDE REFRESHMENTS DURING SUMMER CONCERTS, AND TO PROVIDE ON-SITE STORAGE FOR THE FESTIVAL. FIRST USE WAS DELAYED TO 2021 DUE TO COVID. IN 2021, THIRTEEN FREE SUMMER CONCERTS WERE PRESENTED TO THE NIWOT COMMUNITY. THIS SERIES WAS ATTENDED BY MORE THAN 10,000 PEOPLE.
NIWOT CHILDREN'S PARK THE PARK OPENED IN 2016 AND SERVES APPROXIMATELY 1,000 VISITORS PER YEAR. THE PARK INCLUDES A READING TREE TO SUPPORT THE ROTARY'S LITERACY PROGRAM, A MAMMOTH PLAY SCULPTURE WHICH REFLECTS THE PREHISTORIC HISTORY OF THE AREA, AND A LARGE PLAY FIELD FOR OTHER OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. THE PARK IS USED FOR MANY ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL PRESENTATIONS AND ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING CHILDREN'S ART, HISTORIC ARTIFACTS, AND PROGRAMS ADDRESSING THE CULTURAL HISTORY OF THE AREA, SUCH AS PREHISTORIC, NATIVE AMERICAN, AND RAILROAD HISTORY.
NIWOT JURIED ART SHOW A TWO MONTH-LONG EXHIBIT OF ART WITH A NIWOT FOCUS, DISPLAYED BY LOCAL MERCHANTS, WITH MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC VOTING ON A PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD. IN ADDITION, THERE ARE CASH PRIZES TO ARTISTS WHO WIN FIRST, SECOND, OR THIRD PLACE AS DETERMINED BY A PANEL OF DISTINGUISHED JUDGES. THERE IS A CONCERT BY THE NIWOT COMMUNITY SEMI-MARCHING FREE GRANGE BAND AT THE AWARDS CEREMONY. THE NUMBER OF ARTISTS RANGES FROM 20 TO 40, THE PEOPLE ATTENDING THE AWARDS EVENT IS APPROXIMATELY 100, AND THE NUMBER OF PERSONS VOTING FOR THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD IS APPROXIMATELY 60 TO 100. IN ADDITION, THE ART IS DISPLAYED TO OVER 1000 PATRONS OF THE MERCHANTS DURING THE TWO-MONTH- LONG DISPLAY.
