THE ARTS FOUNDATION MISSION IS TO ADVANCE ARTISTIC EXPRESSION, CIVIC PARTICIPATION, AND EQUITABLE ECONOMIC GROWTH OF OUR DIVERSE COMMUNITY BY SUPPORTING, PROMOTING, AND ADVOCATING FOR ARTS AND CULTURE IN OUR REGION.

"CORE COMPETENCIES" OF THE ARTS FOUNDATION FOR SOUTHERN ARIZONA CONSIST OF: 1)THE GRANTS PROGRAM, WHICH WAS ESTABLISHED BY THE CITY OF TUCSON AND PIMA COUNTY TO RATIONALIZE AND CREATE TRANSPARENCY AND OPENNESS IN THE PUBLIC FUNDING PROCESS. THE PROGRAM NOW MANAGES BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE GRANT DOLLARS, OFFERING GENERAL OPERATING SUPPORT AND PROJECT GRANTS TO THE MANY ARTISTS AND ARTS ORGANIZATIONS THAT ENLIVEN OUR COMMUNITY. 2) THE PUBLIC ART AND COMMUNITY DESIGN PROGRAM, ESTABLISHED BY THE CITY AND COUNTY TO RATIONALIZE AND CREATE TRANSPARENCY AND OPENNESS IN THE PROCESS OF COMMISSIONING PUBLIC ART. THE PROGRAM MANAGES THE PROCESS FOR ART PROGRAMS OF THE CITY OF TUCSON AND PIMA COUNTY, OVERSEEING ARTIST SELECTION AND THE PRODUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF ARTWORK IN CITY AND COUNTY FACILITIES.
