"CORE COMPETENCIES" OF THE ARTS FOUNDATION FOR SOUTHERN ARIZONA CONSIST OF: 1)THE GRANTS PROGRAM, WHICH WAS ESTABLISHED BY THE CITY OF TUCSON AND PIMA COUNTY TO RATIONALIZE AND CREATE TRANSPARENCY AND OPENNESS IN THE PUBLIC FUNDING PROCESS. THE PROGRAM NOW MANAGES BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE GRANT DOLLARS, OFFERING GENERAL OPERATING SUPPORT AND PROJECT GRANTS TO THE MANY ARTISTS AND ARTS ORGANIZATIONS THAT ENLIVEN OUR COMMUNITY. 2) THE PUBLIC ART AND COMMUNITY DESIGN PROGRAM, ESTABLISHED BY THE CITY AND COUNTY TO RATIONALIZE AND CREATE TRANSPARENCY AND OPENNESS IN THE PROCESS OF COMMISSIONING PUBLIC ART.
