WITH ELECTRONIC DISTRIBUTION, THE JOURNAL IS REACHING A WIDE INTERDISCIPLINARY AND INTERNATIONAL AUDIENCE WHICH INCLUDES STUDENTS AT ALL LEVELS AS WELL AS FACULTY AND RESEARCHERS. THOSE WHO BENEFIT FROM THE PUBLICATION PROGRAM SUPPORTED BY HYPATIA (WA) INCLUDE A BROAD READERSHIP AS WELL AS ALL THE AUTHORS WHOSE SCHOLARLY WORK APPEARS IN THE JOURNAL. THOSE ENGAGED IN THE WORK OF THE JOURNAL INCLUDE A CORE GROUP OF EDITORS AND MANAGING EDITORS, AND AN EXTENDED COMMUNITY OF APPROXIMATELY 450 SCHOLARS WHO PARTICIPATE IN VARIOUS ASPECTS OF THE JOURNAL'S ACTIVITIES. EXCLUDING THE EDITORS AND EDITORIAL OFFICE STAFF, WE ESTIMATE THAT 450 VOLUNTEERS (BOARD MEMBERS, ADVISORS, AND REVIEWERS) CONTRIBUTE THEIR TIME AND EXPERTISE TO HYPATIA EVERY YEAR. ALTHOUGH THE IMPETUS FOR FOUNDING HYPATIA CAME FROM THE DISPERSED, INFORMAL CHAPTERS OF THE SOCIETY FOR WOMEN IN PHILOSOPHY, HYPATIA IS NOT FORMALLY AFFILIATED WITH ANY PROFESSIONAL SOCIETY OR INSTITUTION. IT IS HYPATIA (WA) THAT PROVIDES THE FRAMEWORK OF A NONPROFIT ENTITY WITHIN WHICH HYPATIA, A JOURNAL OF FEMINIST PHILOSOPHY CAN OPERATE AND PROVIDE THE SERVICES DESCRIBED ABOVE TO FEMINIST STUDENTS, TEACHERS, AND RESEARCHERS IN PHILOSOPHY AND A RANGE OF COGNATE FIELDS.
