INVERTIGO'S PROFESSIONAL COMPANY PERFORMS ORIGINAL WORKS THROUGHOUT LOS ANGELES COUNTY. PERFORMANCES AND PROFESSIONAL DANCE FILMS WERE BY COMMISSION OR SELF-PRODUCED. COMPANY MEMBERS ALSO TAUGHT PROFESSIONAL-LEVEL AND COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS TO ACCOMPANY PERFORMANCES. INVERTIGO'S PROFESSIONAL PERFORMING PRODUCTIONS IN 2021 INCLUDED A COMMISSION BY THE CULVER CITY DOWNTOWN BUSINESS ASSOCIATION.
DANCING THROUGH PARKINSON'S (DTP), CREATED BY INVERTIGO DANCE THEATRE IN 2011, PROVIDES YEAR-ROUND DANCE CLASSES FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH PARKINSON'S DISEASE AND THEIR FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND CAREGIVERS. DTP CLASSES ENCOURAGE JOY, COMMUNITY, STRENGTH, BALANCE, FLEXIBILITY AND KEEPING THE MIND ALERT. IN ADDITION TO THE PHYSICAL BENEFITS, DTP CLASSES GIVE PARTICIPANTS AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES CREATIVELY. THERE WERE TWO WEEKLY CLASS LOCATIONS IN LA COUNTY IN 2021 AS WELL AS WEEKLY DIGITAL CLASSES.
COMMUNITY IN/MOTION, INVERTIGO'S COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMMING, OFFERS A RANGE OF DYNAMIC COMMUNITY PROGRAMS IN DIFFERENT FORMATS. THE WORKSHOPS PROVIDE A GENERAL DANCE THEATRE APPROACH AND ADDRESS SPECIFIC CULTURAL QUESTIONS AND SOCIAL ISSUES. COMMUNITY IN/MOTION PROGRAMS INCLUDE INVERT/ED, INVERTIGO'S YOUTH EDUCATION PROGRAM. INVERT/ED PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL TEACHING ARTISTS TO LOCAL SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS. STUDENTS ARE CHALLENGED TO CREATE THEIR OWN MOVEMENTS AND LEARN CHOREOGRAPHY THROUGH TEAMWORK, CREATIVE THINKING, FITNESS, PHYSICAL AWARENESS AND LANGUAGE SKILLS. 2021 INVERT/ED PROGRAMS INCLUDED SERIES AT AVPA HIGH SCHOOL AND LITTLE TOKYO SERVICE CENTER.
