FIELD: THE BUS'S FIELD PROGRAM INCLUDES CANVASSING AT CULTURAL AND COMMUNITY EVENTS POPULAR AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE, INCLUDING EVENTS LIKE CAPITOL HILL BLOCK PARTY AND SEATTLE PRIDE PARADE. BUS GOTV FIELD PROGRAMMING CREATES OPPORTUNITIES FOR VOLUNTEERS TO DEEPEN THEIR CIVIC ENGAGEMENT.
OUTREACH: THE BUS'S OUTREACH PROGRAM ENGAGES THOUSANDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE ONLINE AND ON THE GROUND TO ENCOURAGE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT IN ALL FORMS, INCLUDING NEW AND FIRST-TIME VOTERS AND VOLUNTEERS. THE BUS PARTNERS WITH OTHER YOUTH-FOCUSED ORGANIZATIONS TO ENSURE THAT YOUNG PEOPLE KNOW WHERE TO GO FOR RESOURCES AND INFORMATION ABOUT OUR POLITICAL SYSTEM. ADVOCACY INTERNS SUPPORT OUR OUTREACH EFFORTS.

INTERNSHIP: THE WASHINGTON BUS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOCUSED SPECIFICALLY ON EMPOWERMENT AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE. BUS INTERNS WORKED HANDS-ON IN THE ORGANIZING AND LEGISLATIVE ARENAS. THE INTERNSHIP DREW FROM HIGH SCHOOLS AND LOCAL COLLEGES IN THE PUGET SOUND REGION, AND PROVIDED A SUPPORTIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT THROUGH PEER AND MENTOR RELATIONSHIPS, AND FOCUSING ON TOOLS TO BECOME ACTIVISTS FOR SOCIAL CHANGE.
