VOTER ENGAGEMENT: PARTICIPATION AND SUPPORT OF COMMUNITY EVENTS TO ENCOURAGE VOTING AND CIVIC PARTICIPATION. BY PROMOTING AND HOSTING ONE TO TWO EVENTS EACH MONTH, WE FOSTERED ENGAGEMENT BY OFFERING FOOD, MUSIC, AND ACTIVITIES TO HUNDREDS OF ALASKANS.
DIRECTED ADVOCACY: CONSISTENT ATTENDANCE AT LOCAL ASSEMBLY MEETINGS TO ADVOCATE FOR HOUSING ISSUES, COVID MITIGATION, AND THE INSTITUTION OF BODY CAMS FOR THE ANCHORAGE POLICE DEPARTMENT. ADVOCATING ON A STATE LEVEL TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF RESOURCES NEEDED FOR CAREGIVERS. FEDERALLY ADVOCATING FOR SCOTUS, THREATS TO HEALTHCARE/MEDICARE/MEDICAID AND PARITY FOR DC.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA AND BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS WITH OTHER SOCIAL JUSTICE ORGANIZATIONS, WE ENCOURAGE THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO WORK TOWARD ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, RACIAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL EQUITY. IN 2021, WE ADDED TIKTOK AND INSTAGRAM TO OUR NETWORK AND APPROXIMATELY 20% OF ORGANIZER EFFORT WENT TO INCREASING THE VISABILITY OF OUR MESSAGE.
