DURING THE 2020-21 FISCAL YEAR, 55,656 BOOKS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO 33,112 CHILDREN IN NEW YORK, NEW JERSEY, PENNSYLVANIA, CALIFORNIA, AND MARYLAND. THE CHILDREN SERVED ARE FROM 80 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, 16 COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATION SITES AND SPECIAL PROJECTS (BOYS & GIRLS CLUB SITES, ETC.), AND EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTERS. A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF THE DISTRIBUTED BOOKS REFLECTED IN THE TOTAL WERE GIVEN TO CHILDREN THROUGH A LOCAL FESTIVAL AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH INITIATIVES DURING THE PANDEMIC.
