THE ORGANIZATION IS AN ACCLAIMED, PROFESSIONAL-CORE SYMPHONIC CHORUS. IT PERFORMS SOME 20 CONCERTS YEARLY WITH A VARIETY OF ENSEMBLES, INCLUDING PROFESSIONAL, AMATEUR AND YOUTH ORCHESTRAS, AS WELL AS OTHER CHOIRS. THE ORGANIZATION'S BRIDGES PROGRAM PROJECTS THE POWER OF SONG INTO THE COMMUNITY, DRAWING ON THE ENERGY OF MUSIC TO BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER AND ADDRESS SOCIAL PROBLEMS.
AMONG THE ORGANIZATION'S YOUTH EDUCATION PROGRAMS IS THE MINNEAPOLIS YOUTH CHORUS AND PRELUDE CHOIR, WHICH COMPRISE NEARLY 100 STUDENTS IN GRADES 3-10 ENROLLED IN MINNEAPOLIS PUBLIC SCHOOLS. THIS PROGRAM IS OFFERED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. THE ORGANIZATION'S OTHER COMMUNITY-ENGAGEMENT EFFORTS INCLUDE THE INCHOIR PROGRAM FOR ADULTS, EMERGING CONDUCTOR WORKSHOP, AND VOICES OF EXPERIENCE, A CHOIR FOR OLDER SINGERS OFFERED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MACPHAIL CENTER FOR MUSIC.
