MONROE COUNTY MEALS ON WHEELS (ORGANIZATION) DELIVERS A WEEKS WORTH OF FROZEN MEALS ONCE A WEEK TO INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE HOMEBOUND (CLIENTS). CLIENTS RECEIVE TWO TO FOURTEEN MEALS BASED ON THEIR NEEDS AND PREFERENCES. FOURTEEN MEALS PROVIDE LUNCH AND DINNER FOR A WEEK. THE MEAL DELIVERY ALSO INCLUDES A CONDIMENT BAG CONTAINING MILK OR JUICE, BREAD, FRUIT, AND ASSORTED SNACKS. FOR CLIENTS WHO CANNOT STORE OR PREPARE FROZEN MEALS THE ORGANIZATION OFFER A DAILY DELIVERY PROGRAM PROVIDING ONE HOT MEAL AND ONE COLD BAGGED MEAL THAT ARE DELIVERED MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES EMERGENCY BAGS, TO ALL CLIENTS BEGINNING IN OCTOBER AND THROUGHOUT THE WINTER, FOR CLIENTS TO USE DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER WHEN ITS DRIVERS ARE UNABLE TO DELIVER. DURING SUMMER MONTHS THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES ONE EMERGENCY BAG IN CASE OF POWER OUTAGES. EMERGENCY BAGS PROVIDE TWO MEALS AND INCLUDE SHELF STABLE PRODUCTS.
