MEALS ON WHEELS OF THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY SERVES OVER 2200 SENIORS AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES WHO LIVE THOUGHOUT THE LEHIGH VALLEY. OUR CLIENTS RANGE IN AGE FROM 19 TO 101, WITH THE MAJORITY (60%) OVER THE AGE OF 75. OF THE CLIENTS WE SERVE, OVER HALF (54%) LIVE BELOW THE FEDERAL POVERTY LEVEL AND WE ARE SEEING AN INCREASING AMOUNT WHO ARE HOMELESS, LIVING IN TEMPORARY HOUSING. AN AVERAGE OF 57% OF CLIENTS LIVE ALONE, MAKING OUR DAILY SOCIAL CONTACT WITH THEM - IN ORDER TO ALLEVIATE SOCIAL ISOLATION - THAT MUCH MORE CRITICAL. WE DELIVER MEALS FIVE DAYS PER WEEK, WITH FROZEN AND SHELF-STABLE MEALS AVAILABLE AS WEEKEND MEALS AND DURING MAJOR HOLIDAYS. ALL MEALS ARE FRESHLY PREPARED AT OUR FACILITY DAILY. DURING FY23, WE PREPARED A TOTAL OF 327,800 HOT AND COLD MEALS FOR OUR CLIENTS. ALONG WITH MEALS, EACH CLIENT RECEIVES A PERSONAL INTAKE VISIT AND AT LEAST ONE ANNUAL CHECK-IN FROM A CASE MANAGER WHO ENSURES THE INDIVIDUAL IS CONNECTED TO ALL NEEDED SOCIAL SERVICES. THEY ALSO UPDATE INFORMATION, DO A NUTRITIONAL ASSESSMENT AND DISCUSS ANY CONCERNS OF THE CLIENT.
