MEALS ON WHEELS OF THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY IMPROVES THE HEALTH AND DELAYS PREMATURE NURSING HOME PLACEMENT OF OUR CLIENTS BY PROVIDING NUTRITIOUS, MEDICALLY-TAILORED, HOME DELIVERED MEALS TO HOMEBOUND SENIORS, ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES, AND INDIVIDUALS RECOVERING FROM ILLNESS; AS WELL AS THE SUPPORTIVE SERVICES OF GROCERY SHOPPING, CASE MANAGEMENT, PET FOOD DELIVERY, AND A LA CARTE MEALS. DURING OUR FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2022, WE PROVIDED OVER 288,500 MEALS TO MORE THAN 2,000 PEOPLE IN NEED. WE COMPLETED 966 GROCERY TRIPS FOR 53 PEOPLE THROUGHOUT LEHIGH AND NORTHAMPTON, AND SOUTHERN CARBON COUNTIES. OUR PROGRAMS WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT OUR STRONG ACTIVE VOLUNTEER BASE OF OVER 900 WHO CLOCKED OVER 67,056 HOURS AND 356,350 MILES.
