JOE VALLEY CONSERVATION CLUB ENCOURAGES ORGANIZED SHOOTING SPORTS AMONG CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES AND OTHER COUNTRIES, WITH A VIEW TOWARD A BETTER KNOWLEDGE ON THE PART OF SUCH CITIZENS OF THE SAFE HANDLING OF FIREARMS, AS WELL AS IMPROVED MARSKMANSHIP. IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS MISSION, WE PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION OF WILDLIFE AND CONSERVATION OF PROPERTY FOR THE RESIDENTS OF OUR COMMUNITY AND CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES.

THE SKEET AND TRAP RANGE PROVIDES FACILITIES AND SERVICE IN SUPPORT OF THE CLUB'S OBJECTIVE OF EDUCATION AND CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES. EDUCATIONAL SHOOTING ACTIVITIES ARE CONDUCTED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND CONSIST OF NATIONALLY SANCTIONED SKEET AND TRAP COMPETITIONS, LEAGUE SHOOTING, FORMAL SHOTGUN TRAINING FOR MEMBERS, YOUTH, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THE RANGE ALSO PROVIDES A CHARITABLE VENUE FOR CHARITABLE FUND RIASING ACTIVITIES BY OUTSIDE ORGANIZATIONS WITH PROCEEDS FUNDING THEIR 501 (C) (3) MISSION OBJECTIVES.
ST JOE VALLEY CONSERVATION CLUB MAINTAINS APPROXIMATELY 100 ACRES OF ITS LAND HOLDINGS IN CONSERVATION RESERVE PROGRAM SET-ASIDE. THE CONSERVATION RESERVE PROGRAM IS USED TO PROMOTE NATURAL AREAS FOR WILDLIFE HABITAT.
THE CLUB HOLDS NUMEROUS INDIANA DEPARMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES SANCTIONED HUNTER EDUCATION CLASSES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. ALL COURSES ARE OFFERED BY ST. JOE VALLEY CONSERVATION CLUB FREE OF CHARGE TO THE PARTICIPANTS. THE CURRICULUM IS DESIGNED TO TEACH FIREARM SAFETY, THE CORRECT USE AND STORAGE OF FIREARMS, AND TO PROMOTE OUTDOOR SAFETY. TRAINING OF THE YOUTH IN GUN SAFETY, MARKSMANSHIP, AND INCREASED PARTICIPATION IN SHOOTING SPORTS IS SERVED BY THE AIM PROGRAM AND THE 4-H SHOOTING PROGRAMS.
