THE ORGANIZATION IS ONE OF THE LARGEST PERFORMING ARTS ORGANIZATIONS IN THE PHILADELPHIA REGION. DURING FISCAL YEAR 2021, IT EMPLOYED 46 DANCERS AND PRESENTED 5 DIGITAL PRODUCTIONS, INCLUDING 'THE NUTCRACKER'. ITS REPERTOIRE INCLUDES BOTH CLASSIC AND CONTEMPORARY WORKS WHICH WERE PERFORMED TO AN AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 9,000 HOUSEHOLDS AND VIEWED ALMOST 25,000 TIMES ACROSS THE ENTIRE REPERTORY.
THE SCHOOL OF PENNSYLVANIA BALLET PROVIDES THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF BALLET TRAINING FOR ITS STUDENTS AND EXPOSES STUDENTS TO THE WORLD OF PROFESSIONAL DANCE THROUGH REGULAR INTERACTION WITH COMPANY MEMBERS AND ARTISTIC STAFF AND PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES WITH THE COMPANY.
IN 1996, PHILADELPHIA BALLET LAUNCHED ITS AWARD-WINNING COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND PUBLIC PROGRAMS. IN 2021/2022 THESE PROGRAMS SERVE OVER 30,000 PEOPLE ACROSS OUR REGION WITH A VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES, 90% OF WHICH ARE OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE. THROUGH SCHOOL BASED, IN-THEATER PROGRAMMING, PUBLIC ART INSTALLATION AND PERFORMANCE, PHILADELPHIA BALLET PROVIDES RICH ACCESS TO DANCE CREATING A CONNECTION TO THE ARTS. PHILADELPHIA BALLET'S COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND PUBLIC PROGRAMMING COLLABORATES WITH SCHOOLS AND ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS THE CITY, PROVIDING ACCESS TO DANCE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULTS, CREATING A CONNECTION TO THE ARTS AS WELL AS DEVELOPING NEW SKILLS THROUGH A VARIETY OF OPPORTUNITIES.
