WORKING TOGETHER THESE DIVISIONS REACH ADULTS AND FAMILIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY BUILDING A LOVE FOR BALLET AND CREATING AUDIENCES FOR THE FUTURE. ITS PERFORMANCES PROVIDE AN INTIMATE, LIVE BALLET EXPERIENCE FOR ALL AUDIENCES. LEGENDS & VISIONARIES THE NATIONALLY ACCLAIMED LEGENDS & VISIONARIES SERIES FEATURES RESTORATIONS AND REVIVALS OF MASTERWORKS WITH IMPECCABLE FIDELITY TO ORIGINAL MOVEMENTS AND GESTURES AS WELL AS TO AUTHENTIC SETS, COSTUMES AND PROPS AS DOCUMENTED BY HISTORICAL RECORDS. ONCE UPON A BALLET FILLS THIS SERIOUS VACUUM. IT IS A FULL SEASON OF TIME-SHORTENED MINIATURES OF CLASSIC STORY BALLETS, PERFECTLY SUITED FOR THE SHORT ATTENTION SPAN OF YOUNG VIEWERS 3-8 YEARS OF AGE. CLASSICS SUCH AS CINDERELLA AND THE NUTCRACKER CAPTURE THE IMAGINATIONS OF YOUNGSTERS FOR WHOM BALLET IS A NEW FORM OF STORY-TELLING. THIS PROGRAM AWAKENS YOUNG MINDS, NOURISHES THE SPIRIT OF AUDIENCES YOUNG AND OLD, AND SERVES TO ENCOURAGE THE LOVE OF BALLET AMONG FUTURE AUDIENCES. TO WIDEN THE REACH OF THIS IMPORTANT INITIATIVE, NYTB SOLICITS PRIVATE FUNDING TO ENSURE ATTENDANCE BY CHILDREN LIVING IN UNDER-SERVED NEIGHBORHOODS.

LIFT STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN CLASSES WITH NON-SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS. THE CLASSES ARE ONLY A BEGINNING. LIFT GIVES THE CHILDREN SUSTAINED ATTENTION IN A STABLE, CARING ENVIRONMENT. IT INCREASES THEIR SELF-ESTEEM AND TEACHES THEM WHAT IT TAKES TO ACHIEVE A GOAL USING THE DISCIPLINE OF BALLET AS A TOOL.
