Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
IN THE PAST YEAR WITH THE CONTINUATION OF COVID, MAINSTAGE'S PROGRAMMING HAS BEEN DEEPLY IMPACTED. MAINSTAGE HAS TAKEN THIS AS A CHALLENGE AND HAS STILL BEEN ABLE TO OFFER IMPORTANT PROGRAMMING, ALBEIT CURTAILED. SUBSEQUENTLY, OUR INCOME FROM SHOWS AND PROGRAMMING HAS BEEN NEGATIVELY IMPACTED. OUR KEYSTONE PROGRAM, SUMMER STAGE 2021 INVOLVED 200 YOUNG PEOPLE PRODUCING FOR SHOWS FOR VIRTUAL AUDIENCES INSTEAD OF THE USUAL 375 YOUNG PEOPLE PRODUCING 20 LIVE PERFORMANCES FOR THOUSANDS IN OUR AUDIENCES. OUR STUDIO ARTS EDUCATION PROGRAM WITH CLASSES IN ACTING, DANCE, VOICE, AND MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS OPERATED AT 60% REGISTRATIONS DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. OUR SHOW CHOIR HARMONY WAS SUSPENDED FOR A NUMBER OF MONTHS AND PERFORMED IN 6 SHOWS INSTEAD OF A NUMBER USUALLY APPROACHING 30. IN THE SUMMER, MAINSTAGE WAS ABLE TO PRESENT ITS CONCERT IN THE PARK SERIES AT GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP'S VETERANS PARK WITH 6 LOCAL AND REGIONAL BANDS. UNFORTUNATELY, OUR LARGE COMMUNITY EVENT, THE BLACKWOOD PUMPKIN FESTIVAL FOR OVER 180 VENDORS AND 8,000 IN ATTENDANCE WAS CANCELED IN OCTOBER BECAUSE OF LACK OF VOLUNTEERS AND CONCERNS OVER THE SPREAD OF THE VIRUS. WITH FEDERAL, STATE, AND REGIONAL GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE, MAINSTAGE WAS ABLE TO OPERATE AND PAY ITS BILLS. MAINSTAGE REMAINS HOPEFUL THAT THE NEW YEAR WILL BRING A RETURN TO NORMAL PROGRAMMING.
PROMOTION OF THE STUDY, IMPROVEMENT, AND ADVANCEMENT OF THE ARTS, SUCH AS THEATER, DANCE AND MUSCIAL ACTIVITIES.
