("AAH"), FOUNDED IN 1989, IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION THAT PROVIDES COMFORTABLE, AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO END HOMELESSNESS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH A DISABILITY. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED BY PROFESSIONAL STAFF AS WELL AS PEOPLE WHO SHARE THE EXPERIENCES OF THOSE WE SERVE; AND ARE DELIVERED IN A CARING, RESPECTFUL AND EFFICIENT MANNER THAT ADDRESSES THE WHOLE PERSON; BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT.

PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING - AAH OWNS FIVE HOUSES THAT PROVIDE SAFE, AFFORDABLE AND PERMANENT HOMES FOR 20 HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A MENTAL ILLNESS. WE SUPPORT THEIR INDEPENDENCE BY PROVIDING: ASSISTANCE WITH ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING (I.E. CLEANING, MEAL PLANNING, BUDGETING AND MONEY MANAGEMENT), COORDINATION OF HEALTHCARE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ASSISTANCE WITH SECURING ENTITLEMENTS AND BENEFITS, PEER COUNSELING, SOCIAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT, AND TRANSPORTATION.


CASE MANAGEMENT - INTENSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO 48 CLIENTS WHO HAVE EXPRESSED INTEREST IN WORKING ON THEIR LIFE GOALS NOW THAT THEY ARE STABLY HOUSED. IN ADDITION TO THE CUSTOMARY COMPLEMENT OF SUPPORTIVE SERVICES (I.E. ASSISTANCE WITH ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING, COMMUNITY REFERRALS AND SOCIAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT), CLIENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EARN AND IMR PROGRAMS. EARN (EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE FOR RESIDENTS IN NEED) HELPS CLIENTS TO TAKE THE NEXT STEPS ESSENTIAL TO SUCCEEDING IN THE WORKFORCE. THE GOAL IS INCREASED ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY. IMR (ILLNESS MANAGEMENT RECOVERY) IS AN EVIDENCE-BASED MODEL FOR LEARNING TO MANAGE MENTAL ILLNESS. USING A COMBINATION OF MOTIVATIONAL, EDUCATIONAL, AND COGNITIVE-BEHAVIORAL TECHNIQUES, IT ENCOURAGES PEOPLE TO DEVELOP PERSONAL STRATEGIES FOR COPING WITH MENTAL ILLNESS AND MOVING FORWARD WITH THEIR LIFE.
