FOR THE PAST 39 YEARS, LEADERSHIP LACKAWANNA HAS IMPACTED THE LOCAL COMMUNITY - AND THIS YEAR WAS NO DIFFERENT. THROUGH THE WORK OF OUR SIX PROGRAMS, WE EFFECTIVELY DELIVERED UNSTOPPABLE COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO 159 CLASS PARTICIPANTS THIS YEAR! THIS CONSISTED OF 50 DIFFERENT SESSIONS RESULTING IN MORE THAN 180 HOURS OF PROGRAMMING. TO BEGIN, TOMORROWS LEADERS TODAY - OUR YOUTH INITIATIVE. TLT PROVIDES AN ARRAY OF SKILLS TO HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS AND PRESENTS REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCES IN THE AREAS OF STEAM, PHILANTHROPY, NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, FINANCIAL LITERACY AND SERVICE. IN ADDITION, OUR TLT STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN A GRANT-MAKING PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SCRANTON AREA FOUNDATION - A TRULY, ONE-OF-A KIND OPPORTUNITY!OUR EXECUTIVE PROGRAM BRINGS HIGH-LEVEL PROFESSIONALS TOGETHER FOR AN INTIMATE DINING AND NETWORKING EXPERIENCE. THIS PAST FALL, DURING OUR FIVE NIGHTLY SESSIONS, OVER 45 GUESTS AND PRESENTERS INTERACTED WITH THE 14 CLASS PARTICIPANTS.ORIGINALLY CREATED DURING THE PANDEMIC TO ADDRESS A NEED FOR HIGH-LEVEL, VIRTUAL LEADERSHIP TRAINING, OUR LEADERSHIP FUNDAMENTALS 2.0 PROGRAM CONTINUES TO PROVE WORTHY AND WILL REMAIN A LEADERSHIP LACKAWANNA STAPLE. THIS YEAR 26 PEOPLE PARTICIPATED IN THIS 8-WEEK COURSE.LEADERSHIP COLLEGIATE PROVIDES COLLEGE STUDENTS WITH AN INNOVATIVE AND FLEXIBLE LEARNING EXPERIENCE - COMPLETE WITH A VARIETY OF PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SKILLS THAT ARE IDEAL FOR BUILDING A SOLID RESUME AND HONING LEADERSHIP, INTERVIEW AND CAREER READINESS SKILLS. LEADERSHIP COLLEGIATE LAUNCHED THIS FALL AND PROVED SO SUCCESSFUL THAT WE OFFERED A SECOND COURSE DURING THE SPRING. 8 DIFFERENT INSTITUTIONS PARTICIPATED, SENDING MORE THAN 30 COLLEGE STUDENTS THROUGH THIS SIX-WEEK VIRTUAL COURSE.OUR NEWEST INITIATIVE IS CALLED LEADERSHIP U. THIS IS A COLLABORATION WITH PENN STATE SCRANTON AND IS ESSENTIALLY, A 3-CREDIT COLLEGE SUMMER COURSE. PENN STATE WILL PROVIDE THE LEADERSHIP, COMMUNICATION AND PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS, AND WELL BRING THE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PIECE BY WEAVING IN A VARIETY OF TOPICS LIKE S.T.E.A.M., HISTORICAL AWARENESS, FINANCIAL LITERACY AND CAREER EXPLORATION.AND FINALLY, OUR CORE PROGRAM. DURING THIS 10-MONTH PROGRAM, PARTICIPANTS GAIN AN ARRAY OF SKILLS AND COMPLETE VARIOUS COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS. WE BELIEVE PROJECT PARTICIPATION HELPS TO DEVELOP RESOURCEFULNESS AND ENGENDERS A SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT. SINCE LEADERSHIP LACKAWANNA'S FOUNDING IN 1982, OVER 165 PROJECTS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. AND BECAUSE OF THE WORK OF THE CORE PROGRAM CLASS OF 2022, WE CAN ADD 4 MORE TO THAT NUMBER. THIS YEAR, WE WERE BLESSED TO HAVE WORKED WITH FOUR LOCAL NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION. IN TOTAL, THESE FOUR PROJECTS HAD A COMBINED COMMUNITY INVESTMENT OF OVER $55,000.IN CLOSING, IT'S BEEN A GREAT YEAR. OUR RESULTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. SIMPLY PUT, LEADERSHIP LACKAWANNA DEVELOPS LEADERS, MOBILIZES PEOPLE TO SERVE, IMPACTS THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND SHAPES THE FUTURE OF NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA.
