FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO OUR PARENT ORGANIZATION, PENNSYLVANIA STATE NURSES ASSOCIATION (PSNA), FOR THE FOLLOWING: (1) PROVIDED FINANCIAL SUPPORT TOWARD THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NURSES MIDDLE COLLEGE CHARTER SCHOOL APPLICATION. (2) PROMOTED THE STAR LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE PROGRAM TO ADVANCE THOSE NURSES WHO SHOW EXTRAORDINARY NURSING LEADERSHIP OR INTEREST IN PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT.
THE FOUNDATION OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THOSE PURSUING CAREERS IN NURSING AND FOR THOSE INVOLVED IN HEALTHCARE RESEARCH AND LEADERSHIP. IN 2020-2021, THE FOLLOWING SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED BY NFP: 1 AT $1,000 FROM THE ALBERT EINSTEIN SCHOLARSHIP FUND; ONE AT $1,000 FROM THE LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP; ONE AT $1,000 FROM THE FLORENCE MADDEN GRADY-FASICK FUND, AND THREE FROM THE ABINGTON-DIXON HOSPITAL SCHOOL OF NURSING ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP; ONE AT $2,000 AND TWO AT $1,000. SCHOLARSHIPS ARE BLIND REVIEWED BY A SCHOLARSHIP REVIEW COMMITTEE.IN 2020, THE NFP RECEIVED FUNDS FROM THE FORMER ABINGTON DIXON HOSPITAL SCHOOL OF NURSING ALUMNI ASSOCIATION AND THE FAMILY OF ALYSSA RUDY TO FUND THE ALYSSA D. RUDY SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND. THE NFP ALSO RECEIVED FUNDS FROM DRS. MICHAEL AND CAROL WEINGRTEN, AND PAUL AND HAZEL LEHIGH, WHICH ARE TO BE USED TO FUND ADDITIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS IN THE FUTURE.THE CHAD COPE MEMORIAL FUND CONTINUES TO COLLECT DONATIONS TO SUPPORT NURSES' EDUCATION ON POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER (PTSD).IN 2021, THE TUBMAN SCHOLAR ENDOWMENT FUND WAS ESTABLISHED BY TARIK KHAN RN FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING SCHOLARSHIPS FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDENTS PURSUING NURSING CAREERS.
