THE FRIENDSHIP FOUNDATION PROVIDES A SAFE, ACCEPTING AND INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT WHERE CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS, AGES 8+, LIVING WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, CAN ENGAGE IN ACTIVITIES WITH NEURO-TYPICAL PEERS. WE PROVIDE SCHOOL-SANCTIONED FRIENDSHIP CLUBS IN 35+ ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE, AND HIGH SCHOOLS AS WELL AS 50+ PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES ARE OFFERED EACH MONTH IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: SPORTS, SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL WELLNESS, ART, MATH, SCIENCE, LIFE-SKILLS, LEADERSHIP, DRAMA, DANCE AND MUSIC, AS WELL AS FIELD-TRIPS, SUMMER CAMPS, THEATRICAL PERFORMANCES AND MORE. THE PEER-TO-PEER MODEL WE USE BUILDS LEADERSHIP, TEAM-BUILDING SKILLS FOR ALL. THE PROGRAMS FOSTER FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN STUDENTS WHO MAY HAVE NEVER CROSSED PATHS. WE BRING TOGETHER A DIVERSE POPULATION OF STUDENTS INTO ONE ORGANIZATION FOR ONE PURPOSE; TO GROW AND LEARN FROM EACH OTHER. WE CELEBRATE EACH PERSON'S UNIQUE ABILITIES AND HELP THEM MEET THEIR FULL POTENTIAL. WE PROVIDE LOW-COST TO FREE PROGRAM OPTIONS SO ALL FAMILIES CAN GIVE THEIR CHILDREN THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY ACTIVITIES NOT READILY AVAILABLE AND THAT LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD FOR THEM.
THE FRIENDSHIP FOUNDATION RAISED FUNDS TO SUSTAIN ITS PROGRAMS AND CONTRIBUTE BOARD DESIGNATED FUNDS TO FRIENDSHIP EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION CAPITAL CAMPAIGN FOR THE ARCHITECTURAL AND STATE CERTIFIED PLANNING AND PERMITTING OF THE FRIENDSHIP CAMPUS. THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN IS IN PLACE TO SUPPORT THE CAPITALIZED CONSTRUCTION COSTS TO SUPPORT THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 64,000 SQUARE FOOT FACILITY THAT WILL BE OCCUPIED BY FRIENDSHIP FOUNDATION STAFF, PROGRAMS, TRANSITION PROGRAMS, AND AT STATE-OF-THE ART VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM WILL HELP TO TRAIN AND PLACE INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS INTO THE WORKFORCE. IT WILL PROVIDE JOB-SKILLS TRAINING AND LIFE SKILLS TRAINING TO PREPARE YOUNG ADULTS FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY.
