VIVALON PROVIDES TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FOR ELDERLY AND DISABLED PERSONS THROUGHOUT MARIN, SONOMA, CONTRA COSTA AND SAN FRANCISCO COUNTIE. RIDES ARE TYPICALLY SCHEDULED FOR MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS SHOPPING, THERAPY, OR VISITS WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
VIVALON PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE NUTRITION SERVICES FOR OLDER ADULTS IN NEED. IT IS COMPRISED OF A MEALS ON WHEELS HOME-DELIVERED MEAL PROGRAM (3 DAYS A WEEK), A WEEKLY HOME-DELIVERED GROCERY PROGRAM, A WEEKLY FOOD BANK DISTRIBUTION AND A WEEKDAY ON-SITE CAFE. THE MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM DELIVERS APPROXIMATELY 85,000 MEALS TO 300 RECIPIENTS EACH YEAR. THE CAFE SERVES OVER 18,000 MEALS DURING THE YEAR. THE GOAL OF THE NUTRITION PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO HEALTHY, AFFORDABLE MEAL OPTIONS IN A WARM, WELCOMING AND FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT.
THE ACTIVE AGING CENTER HOUSES AN INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICE, AN ARRAY OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, EXERCISE AND HEALTH RELATED CLASSES, SOCIAL GROUPS, A TECHNOLOGY CENTER, A THRIVING MULTICULTURAL PROGRAM, AND THE CAFE MENTIONED UNDER NUTRITION PROGRAMS. WE ARE NORMALLY OPEN 250 DAYS A YEAR AND SERVE OVER 1,500 INDIVIDUALS AT THE ACTIVE AGING CENTER. OUR AVERAGE MEMBER IS 72.
