TOUCH A HEART, INC. EMPOWERS AND TRANSFORMS THOSE FACING BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT BY PROVIDING VOCATIONAL TRAINING IN A HEALING AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT, CREATING PATHWAYS TO A SUSTAINABLE LIFE.

Part 3 - Line 4a

OUR VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAM IN FOOD SERVICES IS FOR THOSE WITH HIGH BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT. THE PARTICIPANTS IN THE PROGRAM ARE AT OR BELOW THE POVERTY LEVEL AND ARE EITHER IN HALF-WAY HOUSING OR ARE IN TRANSITIONAL OR SUBSIDIZED HOUSING. MANY ARE IN RECOVERY FROM DRUG ADDICTION; OTHERS ARE TRANSITIONING TO OR FROM INCARCERATION. THE ORGANIZATION PARTNERS WITH THE LOCAL FOOD SERVICES INDUSTRY TO TRAIN AND PLACE PARTICIPANTS WHO COMPLETE THE PROGRAM. OTHER NON-PROFITS WHO SERVE DISADVANTAGED PEOPLE ALSO HELP US IDENTIFY OUR PROGRAM CANDIDATES. THE CANDIDATES ARE IN TRANSITION AND ARE BEING TRAINED WITH THE MARKETABLE SKILLS NECESSARY TO MOVE TOWARD SUSTAINABLE INDEPENDENT LIVING THROUGH EMPLOYMENT.
