FOUNDED IN 2006, WORLD STAGE THEATRE WAS BIRTHED OUT OF A DESIRE FOR CHANGE IN STORYTELLING, THE NARRATIVE, AND ACCURATE AND DIVERSE REPRESENTATION IN THE ARTS, TEXTBOOKS, AND THE PORTLAND METROPOLITAN COMMUNITY. IN 2007, WHO I AM CELEBRATING ME PREMIERED IN COLLABORATION WITH NIKE INC. DURING BLACK HISTORY MONTH. SINCE THEN, WHO I AM CELEBRATING ME HAS BEEN PERFORMED ANNUALLY THROUGHOUT OREGON EDUCATING ARTISTS, YOUTH, ADULTS, EDUCATORS, SCHOOLS, BUSINESSES, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN GENERAL.
