RIVER TOWNS TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM - THE SUSQUEHANNA GREENWAY HAS PROVIDED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO EDUCATE AND BUILD THE CAPACITY OF COMMUNITY LEADERS WITHIN THE SUSQUEHANNA GREENWAY CORRIDOR TO ENVISION, PLAN, AND DEVELOP RESOURCES NEEDED TO CONSTRUCT AND SUSTAIN RIVERFRONT PARKS, BIKING AND WALKING TRAILS, RIVER ACCESSES, GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE AND GREENWAY SIGNS IN ORDER TO STIMULATE SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. THE SUSQUEHANNA GREENWAY PARTNERSHIP ENGAGED COMMUNITY RESIDENTS AND PROVIDED THEM WITH THE TRAINING THEY NEEDED TO CREATE IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.
EDUCATION AND OUTREACH PROGRAM - SGP'S OUTREACH AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO CREATE GREATER AWARENESS OF GREENWAY AND CONSERVATION ISSUES, AND TO FOSTER ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP AND CIVIC PRIDE. SGP EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS HAVE PROVIDED TRAINING, TOOLS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZING HELP NEEDED BY LOCAL COMMUNITIES TO ADVANCE GREENWAY PROJECTS. THE FOCUSES OF SGP'S EDUCATION AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS ARE ON CITIZEN STEWARDSHIP, FACILITATING UNIQUE EXPERIENCES THAT CONNECT RESIDENTS AND VISITORS TO THE OPPORTUNITIEES OF THE SUSQUEHANNA GREENWAY, AND PROVIDING TOOLS AND EDUCATION TO PARTNERS TO GROW THE GREENWAY IN THEIR REGION.
TRAILS PROGRAM - SGP'S TRAILS PROGRAM HELPS COMMUNITIES AND PARTNERS ENVISION, BUILD, AND SUSTAIN LAND AND WATER TRAIL SEGMENTS WITHIN THE SUSQUEHANNA GREENWAY THAT TRANSFORM GREENWAY CORRIDORS INTO VIBRANT PUBLIC SPACES THAT INSPIRE ACTIVE LIVING.
