JACK'S PLACE IS A FACILITY THAT PROVIDES TEMPORARY HOUSING TO FAMILIES OF REHABILITATING CHILDREN WHO MUST LEAVE THEIR OWN COMMUNITY TO SEEK MEDICAL CARE FOR THEIR CHILDREN. THE HOUSE SERVES THE FAMILIES OF CHILDREN RECEIVING TREATMENT AT SUNNYVIEW REHABILITATION HOSPITAL, ELLIS HOSPITAL AND OTHER MEDICAL FACILITIES IN THE SCHENECTADY, NEW YORK AREA.

PLANS WERE COMPLETED TO RENOVATE THE FACILITY AND TO ADD AN ADDITION. BUILDING CONSTRUCTION WAS COMPLETED IN JANUARY 2017. THE FOUNDATION BEGAN ACCOMODATING FAMILIES OF OUT OF TOWN PATIENTS IN MARCH 2017. DURING 2020 JACK'S PLACE ACCOMODATED FAMILIES OF 26 PATIENTS AND 45 INDIVIDUALS. INDIVIDUALS STAYED FROM 7 STATES AND 1 COUNTRY. THE AVERAGE STAY AT THE FACILITY IS 15 NIGHTS WITH AN AVERAGE OCCUPANCY OF 4 OUT OF THE 8 AVAILABLE ROOMS. DURING 2021, JACK'S PLACE ACCOMODATED FAMILIES OF 54 PATIENTS AND 103 INDIVIDUALS. INDIVIDUALS STAYED FROM 10 STATES AND 1 COUNTRY.
