Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
TAKEACTION MINNESOTA IS AN ALLIANCE OF INSTITUTIONS AND INDIVIDUALS WHO COME TOGETHER TO BUILD THE POWER OF DIVERSE PEOPLE, COMMUNITIES, AND ORGANIZATIONS IN ACTIVE GRASSROOTS DEMOCRACY THAT ADVANCES RACIAL, SOCIAL, CLIMATE, AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE. WE WORK TOWARD A STATE THAT RECOGNIZES THE INHERENT WORTH AND DIGNITY OF EVERY PERSON, AND WHOSE GOVERNMENT AND ECONOMY OPERATE BY US AND FOR US. BECAUSE RACIAL INEQUALITY, GENDER HIERARCHY, AND CORPORATE POWER PREVENT MANY PEOPLE FROM LEADING FULL, JOYFUL LIVES, THE ORGANIZATION AIMS TO DISMANTLE THOSE STRUCTURES AND PROMOTE SOCIAL, GENDER, RACIAL, AND CLIMATE JUSTICE. WE USE SHORT-TERM FIGHTS AROUND THESE ISSUES TO HOLD CORPORATIONS ACCOUNTABLE, WIN POLICY CHANGES, MOBILIZE OUR COMMUNITIES TO HAVE A STRONG VOICE IN THE STREETS AND AT THE BALLOT BOX, AND ULTIMATELY WIN LONG-TERM TRANSFORMATIONAL CHANGES THAT MAKE LIFE BETTER FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN EXCLUDED FROM POWER AND PRIVILEGE. TAKEACTION MINNESOTA HAS ACTIVE MEMBERS IN EVERY COUNTY IN MINNESOTA, AND OFFICES IN ST. PAUL, DULUTH, AND ST. CLOUD. IN 2021, TAKEACTION MINNESOTA RAN OUR LARGEST MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS PROGRAM EVER. WE ENDORSED 19 CANDIDATES IN MINNEAPOLIS, ST. PAUL, AND DULUTH, OVER HALF OF WHOM WERE TAKEACTION MINNESOTA MEMBERS. TEN TAKEACTION ENDORSED CANDIDATES WERE ELECTED TO OFFICE. TAKEACTION ALSO INAUGURATED A NEW WAY TO TALK TO MINNESOTANS USING LONG-FORM, UNSCRIPTED CONVERSATIONS TO GET AT PEOPLE'S BASIC VALUES. DURING 2021, WE HELD 5,554 DEEP CANVASS CONVERSATIONS ON PUBLIC SAFETY AND CLIMATE CHANGE, AND OUR INNOVATIVE METHODS EARNED ATTENTION FROM NATIONAL AUDIENCES INCLUDING THE NEW YORK TIMES. TAKEACTION ACTIVATED 4,986 PEOPLE, RECRUITED 409 NEW MEMBERS, CONDUCTED 18,577 CONVERSATIONS WITH MINNESOTANS ACROSS THE STATE, AND REACHED 1,891,971 PEOPLE WITH OUR MESSAGE ONLINE.
