THE ORGANIZATION OF MISO STATES, INC. IS A NONPROFIT, SELF-GOVERNING ORGANIZATION OF REPRESENTATIVES FROM EACH STATE WITH REGULATORY JURISDICTION OVER ENTITIES PARTICIPATING IN THE MIDCONTINENT INDEPENDENT SYSTEM OPERATOR, INC. (MISO), A REGIONAL TRANSMISSION ORGANIZATION AS DEFINED BY THE FEDERAL ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION (FERC). THE PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO COORDINATE REGULATORY OVERSIGHT AMONG THE STATES, INCLUDING RECOMMENDATIONS TO MISO, THE MISO BOARD OF DIRECTORS, THE FERC, OTHER RELEVANT GOVERNMENT ENTITIES, AND STATE COMMISSIONS, AS APPROPRIATE.

ORGANIZATION ASSISTS MEMBER STATES TO PARTICIPATE IN MISO STAKEHOLDER PROCESS. THIS ASSISTANCE ASSURES BETTER COORDINATION OF ELECTRICITY DELIVERY WITH STATE POLICIES. REIMBURSED TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR PARTICIPANTS IN APPROXIMATELY 50 MEETINGS. ORGANIZATION REIMBURSED MEMBERS FOR ONLINE TRAINING COURSES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WHICH HELPED PREPARE NEW STAFF FOR BETTER ENGAGEMENT IN THE FUTURE.ORGANIZATION HOSTED MANY ONLINE EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AND MADE THEM AVAILABLE TO ALL MEMBERS.
