THE YOUTH ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE ALLIANCE IS AN AFTER SCHOOL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM. YEJA'S PURPOSE IS TO BUILD LEADERSHIP AND POLITICAL ANALYSIS WITH LOW INCOME YOUTH AND YOUTH OF COLOR IN MULTNOMAH COUNTY AND DIGITALLY TO WASHINGTON COUNTY. FELLOWS COME FROM CENTURY HIGH SCHOOL, LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL, TIGARD HIGH SCHOOL, JESUIT HIGH SCHOOL, AND BEAVERTON ACADEMY OF SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING.


OPAL TRAINED LEADERS THROUGH OUR LEADERSHIP AND TRAINING PROGRAMS AND BRINGS COMMUNITY MEMBERS INTO ISSUES ADDRESSING ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE. WE CONVENE COMMUNITY PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS TO ADVANCE POLICY CAMPAIGNS ON TRANSPORATION JUSTICE, ENVIRONMENTAL AND CLIMATE JUSTICE. THIS INCLUDED POLICY THAT COULD HAVE INCREASED FUNDING FOR LOCAL TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS, UTILITY REFORM AND ADVANCING COMMUNITY CENTERED SAFETY SOLUTIONS.


BRU ORGANIZES TRANSIT-DEPENDENT RIDERS, NAMELY LOW-INCOME PEOPLE, BLACK, INDIGENOUS, AND PEOPLE OF COLOR, PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, YOUTH AND SENIORS. BRU IS A MULTIRACIAL, MULTICULTURAL, INTERGENERATIONAL MEMBERSHIP. WE FOCUS ON EAST PORTLAND COMMUNITIES WHERE THERE IS INCREASING DIVERSITY AND CONCENTRATED POVERTY, ESPECIALLY YOUTH POVERTY, ALONG WITH HIGH TRANSIT-DEPENDENCY.


SOL IS AN ORGANIZING SPACE FOR BLACK, INDIGENOUS, AND PEOPLE OF COLOR FOCUSED ON ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE. WE AIM TO BUILD A TRANSFORMATIVE NARRATIVE FOR OUR VISION OF THE FUTURE THROUGH AN ANTI-IMPERIAL, FEMINIST, RACIALLY JUST, AND ECOLOGICALLY-CENTERED POLITICAL ALIGNMENT. THEY ASSEMBLED ONCE A MONTH AS A GROUP TO COLLECTIVELY PLAN OUR WORK AREAS/CAMPAIGNS AND TOPICS FOR OUR POLITICAL EDUCATION WORKSHOPS.
