Part 3

PROVIDING MEMBERS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE PROMOTION OF CULTURAL, ECONOMIC AND BUSINESS TIES WITH VARIOUS ASIA PACIFIC COUNTRIES. EACH HAPA EVENT INCLUDES A RIGOROUS SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING BUSINESS MEETINGS WITH RELIGIOUS AND POLITICAL LEADERS, FACTORY TOURS, AND INTERACTIONS WITH COUNTRY SPECIFIC BUSINESS LEADERS. MEMBERS ALSO LEARN THE VALUES OF DIFFERENT ASIAN CULTURES THROUGH SITE VISITS AND EXPERIENCES, BECOMING STUDENTS OF DIFFERENT ASIAN CULTURAL AND CULINARY PRACTICES AND TOURING AREAS OF HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE. EACH ACTIVITY EMPHASIZES AN ASPECT OF ENHANCING MEMBERS' KNOWLEDGE OF THE VARIOUS CULTURES AND INTERTWINED BUSINESS PRACTICES WITHIN THE ASIA PACIFIC REGION. THROUGH HAPA, ITS MEMBERS ARE ABLE TO THEN UTILIZE AND SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE GAINED FROM THEIR EXPERIENCES WITH THE REST OF HAWAII. ADDITIONALLY, HAPA WORKS TOGETHER WITH THE HAWAII VISITORS BUREAU TO ASSIST IT IN ANY WAY NECESSARY TO ENHANCE AND PROMOTE HAWAII'S TOURISM INDUSTRY. DUE TO THE WORLDWIDE COVID-19 PANDEMIC THE 2020 THROUGH 2022 LEARNING TRIPS WERE POSTPONED. A LEARNING TRIP FOR 2023 TO JAPAN IS PLANNED.
