THE PRODUCERS GUILD OF AMERICA IS THE NON-PROFIT TRADE GROUP THAT REPRESENTS, PROTECTS AND PROMOTES THE INTERESTS OF PRODUCERS AND THE PRODUCING TEAM IN FILM, TELEVISION AND NEW MEDIA. ITS MORE THAN 8,000 MEMBERS WORK TOGETHER TO PROTECT AND IMPROVE THEIR CAREERS, THE INDUSTRY AND THE PRODUCING COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING MEMBERS WITH EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, SEEKING TO EXPAND HEALTH BENEFITS, PROMOTING FAIR AND IMPARTIAL STANDARDS FOR THE AWARDING OF PRODUCING CREDITS, IN ADDITION TO OTHER EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY EFFORTS SUCH AS ENCOURAGING SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION PRACTICES. THE PRODUCERS GUILD AWARDS CELEBRATES THE FINEST PRODUCING WORK OF THE YEAR AND GIVES THE GUILD AN OPPORTUNITY TO HONOR SOME OF THE LIVING LEGENDS WHO HAVE SHAPED THE PRODUCING PROFESSION. IT IS A UNIQUE CHANCE FOR PGA MEMBERS TO EXTEND THEIR NETWORK, SUPPORT THEIR GUILD AND PAY TRIBUTE TO THE BEST OF THEIR PROFESSION. THE PRODUCERS GUILD AWARDS WERE HELD VIRTUALLY IN MARCH 2021.
THE PRODUCERS GUILD ALSO HOLDS SMALLER NETWORKING EVENTS SUCH AS SEMINARS, WORKSHOPS, MASTER CLASSES, NEW MEMBERS BREAKFAST RECRUITING EVENTS, MEETINGS, COUNCIL NETWORKING MEETINGS, AND JOB FORUMS. THESE EVENTS BRING MEMBERS TOGETHER TO PROMOTE EDUCATIONAL AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES, SHARE IDEAS AND BUILD ON RELATIONSHIPS WITHIN THE INDUSTRY. THESE EVENTS HELP TO PROTECT, EDUCATE, AND PROMOTE THE INTERESTS OF ALL MEMBERS OF THE PRODUCING TEAM IN FILM, TELEVISION AND NEW MEDIA. AS A RESULT OF THE PANDEMIC, THE PGA CLOSED BOTH OF ITS OFFICES AND STOPPED CONDUCTING IN-PERSON EVENTS. THE ENTIRE STAFF WORKED VIRTUALLY. ALL COMMITTEE MEETINGS, WEBINARS, MASTER CLASSES, NETWORKING EVENTS AND SCREENINGS WERE HELD VIA ZOOM.
