Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
THE MISSION OF FPCFE IS TO IMPROVE AND SUPPORT TEACHER EFFECTIVENESS IN NATIVE COMMUNITIES BECAUSE WE BELIEVE AMERICA'S FIRST CHILDREN DESERVE THE BEST. THE VISION IS NATIVE AMERICAN SELF-DETERMINATION THROUGH QUALITY EDUCATION, ROOTED IN RESEARCH THAT POINTS TO THE TEACHER AS ONE OF THE STRONGEST INDICATORS FOR STUDENT SUCCESS (HIRSH, 2005; CAREY, 2004; HAYCOCK, 1998). FPCFE HELPS SCHOOLS BUILD A SOLID FOUNDATION OF KNOWLEDGEABLE TEACHERS, ADMINISTRATORS AND TEACHER-LEADERS WHO WILL TAKE ON THE RESPONSIBILITY OF HELPING STUDENTS DEVELOP NOT ONLY THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS NECESSARY TO PERFORM WELL ON ASSESSMENTS, BUT TO ENJOY LITERACY AND MATHEMATICS. FIRST AND FOREMOST IS THE GOAL TO INTERVENE AS EARLY AND QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE BEFORE AT RISK STUDENTS FALL TOO FAR BEHIND THEIR PEERS AND HAVE TOO MUCH EXPERIENCE IN FAILURE. EARLY INTERVENTION PROVIDES THESE STUDENTS THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO SUCCEED THROUGHOUT THEIR SCHOOL YEARS AND BEYOND.
