MANGROVE ACTION PROJECT IS DEDICATED TO THE CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION OF MANGROVE ECOSYSTEMS WORLDWIDE. MAP EDUCATES CHILDREN ON THE VITAL SIGNIFICANCE OF MANGROVES AND EMPOWERS COMMUNITIES WITH THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TO SUCCESSFULLY RESTORE THEM.

ADULT EDUCATION: MAP'S COMMUNITY-BASED ECOLOGICAL MANGROVE RESTORATION (CBEMR) WORKSHOPS IMPROVE MANGROVE RESTORATION EFFORTS AROUND THE WORLD. MAP WORKS WITH NGOS, GOVERNMENTS, FOREST OFFICERS, AND COMMUNITY GROUPS TO BUILD CAPACITY AND EQUIP PARTICIPANTS WITH THE TOOLS NEEDED FOR LONG-TERM ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION WHILE SUPPORTING THE WELL-BEING OF LOCAL COMMUNITIES. OUR 2022 ACTIVITIES INCLUDED SIX WORKSHOPS: FOUR IN-PERSON IN KENYA, TANZANIA, AND THE BAHAMAS, AND TWO ONLINE GLOBAL WORKSHOPS. YOUTH EDUCATION: OUR AWARD-WINNING MARVELOUS MANGROVES EDUCATION CURRICULUM HAS BEEN TAUGHT TO OVER 500,000 STUDENTS WORLDWIDE. THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THE IMPORTANCE OF MANGROVES AND ENSURE THEIR LONG-TERM PROTECTION. IT IS CURRICULUM-LINKED TO HELP TEACHERS ACHIEVE THEIR LEARNING OBJECTIVES. WE ALSO PROVIDE TRAININGS FOR TEACHERS ON EFFECTIVE METHODS, AND ENGAGE EDUCATION MINISTRIES REGARDING MODELS FOR MANGROVE EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS. OUR CHILDREN'S MANGROVE ART CONTEST ALSO TEACHES THE VALUE OF THE NATURAL WORLD IN A FUN AND CREATIVE WAY, ATTRACTING OVER 350 ENTRIES FROM 60 COUNTRIES ANNUALLY.
