MDAA'S HAS BEEN EDUCATING THE GENERAL PUBLIC ON MISSILE DEFENSE ISSUES AND THE NEED FOR A MISSILE DEFENSE SYSTEM PROGRAM. MDAA HAS SUCCESSFULLY BROUGHT THE MISSILE DEFENSE ISSUE INTO THE PUBLIC DIALOGUE. MDAA HAS WORKED TOWARD THIS PURPOSE BY ENGAGING IN A BROAD ARRAY OF ADVOCACY PROGRAMS. MDAA CONDUCTS MEDIA TOURS, SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS, TESTIMONY BEFORE STATE LEGISLATURES, AND ADVOCATES MISSILE DEFENSE ISSUES. MDAA CONDUCTS INDEPENDENT POLLING TO REFLECT PUBLIC OPINION ON MISSILE DEFENSE ISSUES. MDAA REPRESENTATIVES MEET WITH CIVIC GROUPS, SCHOOLS, PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS AND CORPORATE GROUPS TO HEIGHTEN AWARENESS OF MISSILE DEFENSE ISSUES AND TO ADVOCATE FOR THE DEPLOYMENT OF A NATIONAL MISSILE DEFENSE SYSTEM. MDAA MAINTAINS AN EDUCATIONAL WEBSITE THAT PROVIDES INFORMATION ON MISSILE DEFENSE ISSUES, ADVOCACY, THE LATEST MISSILE DEFENSE NEWS, AND PUBLIC OPINION POLLS. MDAA SENDS MDAA ALERT, WHICH IS A NEWSLETTER DISTRIBUTED VIA THE INTERNET, OT ITS MEMBERS AND INTERESTED PERSONS.
