THE NAPA VALLEY YOUTH SYMPHONY WAS CREATED IN 2002 TO PROVIDE TALENTED YOUNG MUSICIANS AN OPPORTUNITY TO PERFORM TOGETHER IN A FULL SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRA. THE NAPA VALLEY YOUTH SYMPHONY PERFORMS THREE MAJOR CONCERTS PER YEAR AND PRESENTS SERVERAL MASTER CLASSES, EDUCATION CONCERTS AND CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERTS EACH SEASON. THE NAPA VALLEY YOUTH SYMPHONY GARNERED MANY ACCOLADES OVER THE PAST SERVERAL SEASONS INCLUDING RECOGNITION OF ACHIEVEMENT BY UNITED STATES SENATOR BARBARA BOXER AND AN INVITATION TO PERFORM AT CARNEGIE HALL. THE YOUNG MUSICIANS COME FROM MANY DIFERRENT SCHOOLS IN AND AROUND THE NAPA VALLEY AREA. THE UPPER AGE LIMIT IS 25 YEARS OLD. THERE IS NO MINIMUM AGE. THEY ARE SELECTED BY AUDITION, BUT NO QUALIFIED MUSICIAN IS EXCLUDED BECAUSE OF FINANCIAL NEED. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE IN THE FORM OF TUITION.
